Indeed, you can see their tents with skinned human faces in the background.

That started poop storm in Twitter cause “It supports genocide”

it was a bad twitter take by that guy on twitter who people keep linking to, when sharing something new from the alpha/beta, in the spoiler thread.

Committing genocide has been a thing since you arrived in Razor hill and it never stopped.

And always justified. Again, I don’t get why I shouldn’t exterminate all the Murlocs and Kobolds in Elwynn Forest as they are worse than just a local pest but they kill and disrupt the peace. Not to say the PC is in any way shape or form directed by moral ideals and choices but they fight for their faction’s interests for the major part.

Sure some PCs might do that, I’ll commit world wide cleansing of gnoll kind for a green ring with 2 more intellect.

No more reason to kill murlocs is needed other than “I’m hungry.” After all, as the people of Westfall say:

“Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew.”

I mean, vanilla wow has shown them to be cannibals, so the only gentleman’s response is to eat them back obviously. :face_with_monocle: :tophat: :probing_cane:

they should be SAUTEED. mashed murloc. and you call them savage? no no no. you serve murloc as a seafood platter not as a stew. prefferably served with a white wine.

Just because something’s technically edible doesn’t mean that you ought to. Like murlocs, as with mcdonalds.

I suspect some enterprising soul will turn them into fast food eventually due to the sheer supply of raw materials. Whether there’s actually demand for it will be decided at the end of our four week genocide grind.

We already have the Makrura
a humanoid sentient and albeit primitive race capable of communicating in nerglish with other species such as murlocs and naga,

despite this, they are eaten by goblins as luxury foods

I’m sure there is a demand for murlocs, naga and even gnoll or kobold meat somewhere.

Blame the people of Westfall for putting them in a stew!

I’m pretty sure there will be a demand for it!

Goblins got the right idea, they’re overgrown lobsters anyway.

You and I, we’ll get to dine.

Also think we could make chicken nuggets, wings and drumsticks out of harpies?

This does shin a light on a rather unethical side of Azeroth.
since both murlocs and Makrura are both foods, despite having culture, society and language, we have also witnessed raptors displaying near human level intellect, through the use of primitive clothing and social behaviour, yet we hunt them for trophies and food as well, it begs the question what other creatures are on the dinner plate?

Edit: I was also reminded of how centaur are hunted and skinned by the horde to make carpets, and not just the horse part, but the humanoid as well.

Its a rather dark side of the lore, I don’t think anyone has really tried to point out before and much like how we so often have taken part in genocide against small groups and species, It paints a really dark picture of the daily life on Azeroth.

If you are not part of the two main factions and if you aren’t at least partly as advanced as they are, you are either a pest to be destroyed or food to be served.

Does make me wonder how tauren feel about the human habit of processing cows into meat and keeping them for milk.

I don’t think they have an issue with the consumption of beef, as they are omnivores and prolific hunters, but perhaps the visual of a creature that is only slightly similar to them being kept as cattle is off putting?

or maybe it is a human - ape kind of thing, where you can see the resemblance but still consider them animals.

We’re asking questions the world building devs themselves didn’t. Let’s keep it that way.
