Pet pathing is.....Om*g

Since its a crap week for pushing keys, ive been playing on my BM hunter and dear LORD pet pathing is…dont want to get muted on the forum but jesus christ the pet can get stuck in places no one would think is possible. He gets stuck in a corner, sometimes he just bugs out and dont attack anything untill you dismiss and resum, this can happen mid boss fight and get stuck in places that should be impossible.

I was playing my BM hunter in legion aswell as an alt, and it worked really fine. But in BFA, why havent anyone fixed this yet?
its SO DAMN annoying

For my fellow other pet users, does this happen to warlocks aswell? or unholy dk?

Pets have been broken since the beginning of time. The reason you didn’t run into these issues in Legion was because Legion was a properly designed and tested (at least for the most part, the legendary drop system obviously was neither) expansion.

If you’re familiar with “snapping” where either players or NPCs get teleported to the other, due to Aggro, those are the spots with the most issues for pets. Height differences also are a huge issue and don’t let me even get started on mythic carapace.

If you have the option of not playing with a pet, do it. Pets will only bring you headaches in WoW. They pull random groups (Tol’dagor when they chase bobby as he’s running away), they stop moving altogether (literally any pebble that’s inbetween them and their target) or they fall through existance and despawn (Atal’dazar when using the arguably bug-skip towards the poison boss, I guess that’s on people using it, but still).

Ye i use this all the time on my prot war in certain dungeons. Funny thing about snaping. In freehold u can get snapped to mobs for simply no reason, and its not like ur in a bad spot, ive died to that several times when u try to reset necrotic or something and then just get snapped even tho ur in a perfectly good position were mobs actually can just run up to u.

For this reason alone i hate pet specs but MM is not really an option either. For the most time it works fine as pet class but then you have these dungeons which makes pet go giga buggy.

It’s part of the joy of being a pet owner. I have cursed as my pet stood in the doorway refusing to attack the raid boss. Fortunately I’ve not had it recently but they are a pain to manage at times. I also hate how my pet vanishes when someone puts their keystone in the font activating the countdown timer.

Yep agree, and pet dosent spawn with you if u die or have a team wipe.
So you have to call your pet again. Another really buggy place for pets is Siege of boralus, the last boss, oh dear dont get me started on this one,

Lets hope they get this fixed in shadowlands or atleast design dungeons in a way that dosent make pets bug out for no reason.

On idea level hunter and warlock sounds fun but the pets that those classes have are the reason i won’t play them. And i still have not found any mmo that has an actual working pet class its always the case of crap AI and pets getting stuck to everything.

I have never understood why hunters are considered easy and fun to level because when i leveled my hunter it was the most boring and infuriating crap ever same goes to warlock.

This week is free for everything below 20s wot

Its part of BM. With time you learn all the tricks of terrain

And you cant expect such fierce beasts to obey 100% of the time.

Yes but im not doing anything below 20s on war my dude

I love watching people in LFR after they’ve downed Muat and are heading to the prophet…

"OK I see… 4 hunters… Lets see who has the knowledge of the pet system to dismiss before he runs up that ramp to skip those two guardians and…

No. They didn’t."

I have had issues sometimes with my BM Hunter pets, however recently when I play my Frost Mage I have been getting quite stroppy with the elemental as it seems to be in a huff all the time and just stands there!

It seems to have a delay joining in the fighting and more interested In the position it wants to stand in next to me, fidgeting around… it then seems to want to only join in towards the end when I have almost killed the mob … tut!

Been several times I have to check to see if it’s in passive mode and as per norm, it isn’t, it’s just in a mood - naughty elemental!
