Someone threw a rather big one outside my window. The thing detonated and almost shattered my window. -_-
That Orgrimmar is infested with Illidari, Nightborne, FELborne, a giant heap of blood elves and undead.
This place needs more orcs, trolls, goblins and pandaren, the -TRUE- Horde races.
Why are Garns available as mounts? They’re twice the size of a damn bear on average, what are we riding, puppies?!
Probably pups, yes. The adults are noted to be feared by even the wolf-friends of the Frostwolf clan so I doubt they’d be happy to take riders.
Similar to how gronnling mounts exist, but not gronn.
I peeve at the absolute objective insanity of guild politics wherein cabals are formed and maintained across platforms to crush opposition and newcomers just to hold onto what, exactly? Standing? Gravitas? Monopolies on interaction? Meanwhile, perpetual reinforcement mechanisms maintain the sickness and prevent the less ideological from seeing a fault in the system.
All this in a silly fantasy game. People get up early, quit work, cancel appointments and lose sleep just to tear down yonder random orc or elf. How do people live like this?
By extension I reiterate the bonus peeve that people treat their characters like flawless wish fulfillment reflections of themselves, turning criticism and disagreement into long term blood feuds and grudges to the point that the subject of their ire have to go into hiding.
Furthermore; Quel’Thalas delenda est.
Some people just make it their duty to ruin others’ experience. Some just forget that this is a game after all, that RP is a social game that requires a bit of give and take for things to go smoothly. A very few extreme ones will insert themselves in their character thinking that an insult to Joe Gravewhisper Grand Warlock of the Horde is an insult to them RL and lose their ability of rational thinking.
Circlejerks are even worse than that as you mentionned, but that’s not a topic we should dwell too long upon.
Duskrunner Lorinas (if that’s his name, the one of the velf island guys) has black hair, the kind not available to PC void elves, and his tentacle isn’t a tentacle, it’s just black.
There’s also NPC’s in Stormwind with it, some of the NPC’s walking around lonely/with a high elf buddy. I wish it was available to PC’s at least, even if they don’t give us high elf-like customisation.
Kul Tirans can’t come quick enough. Also I’m playing Witcher 3 and now want to make a Kul Tiran druid who is literally just the Pellar and goes around making people do crazy culture quests and gathering reagents for him.
The fact we’re about 4-5 months into an expansion and don’t have the main expansion races playable yet (Zandalari at least were announced aaaages ago, but then got shafted and swapped with mag’har because… reasons?). I find that hilarious. And it’s likely not happening for another two months when the raid is ‘done’ at that.
Whatever happened to an expansion coming out and just… having the new races? Without needing to grind for them? Oh right, artificially extending our play time for sweet, sweet statistics and consumer data.
God, I do NOT want to be someone who really wants a Legion allied race but missed Legion entirely. The grind would kill me. At least with Mag’har/Dark Irons you’re doing relevant content.
Double god help you if you’re a brand new player who really wants to play Dark Irons or something. “Wait, I got to get to level ONE HUNDRED AND ****ING TWENTY and THEN do a grind lasting several weeks JUST to play as the race I want to?”
Christ, we’ve reached Korean MMO levels of grind haven’t we? I remember when levels past 100 were a joke that you’d only see on ‘Everybody is a GM’ private servers way back when.
I think the tentacles should have been a separate customisation option. Plus give black hair!
Only after they give female tauren more than 3 faces.
tfw I’ve grinded all 4 Legion races, started playing only after BfA released.
And THEN you need to level THAT character to max to unlock its armor.
I like a bit of grinding, but Blizzard’s tactics are just cheap.
What really bugs me about the Allied Races discussion, is the grind for them, as opposed to completing an achievement or questline and then have them unlocked to you. Instead, we need to do a questline AND get the reputation tied to the race to exalted.
And the answer to “Why?” seems to go two ways, one being more likely than the other: The first is to essentially gather retention data, the other is because it is to appease those weirdos who get off on this false sense of “Pride and Accomplishment” that involves playing a race that you get from a reputation grind, and that only the most worthy are allowed to play the race.
I felt really peeved at the end of my road when I did unlock the Mag’hars. So much so that I didn’t even feel that excited to start playing one, and that it made me not want to bother going for the Alliance Allied Races. I’d love to play a Dark Oyron Dwarf, but I just simply can’t bother because I know I’d have to deal with a lengthy grind to unlock a character that I’d probably use for a limited purpose. At least with my Mag’har I got him to max level in a timely manner because I like playing Arms and because I play regularly on the Horde side and the RP Character has a good amount of purpose to playing, my Dark Iron would probably be stuck at the lower levels due to a lack of interest in the faction.
I don’t mind a grind, but if I am already grinding, I’d like it to be for a character that I do have a level of investment put in to 'em. I don’t have much investment in to any of my Alliance characters, so I don’t want to grind. And since I don’t want to grind, I won’t be playing any of the Allied Races of BfA on the Alliance side.
This is why I’d rather see a simple questline/achievement unlock rather than a “Get to exalted” grind.
Even then the questline to unlock both is a pain in some way.
Mag’har? Zip all over the world for one specific thing in really obscure locations, hope you have multiple ways to hearth or teleport!
Dark Iron? Do a dungeon because reasons!
And the fact that Allied races have to start from level 20 is hardly an improvement either. 20 levels is nothing when you know you still got a hundred more to get there. What would have been a good compromise is simply get them already to at the very least level 60 and my ideal choice would be level 80.
You already grinded your a** for them, why is the whole leveling process needed again? It doesn’t feel like a reward but like you going to UPS customer service to get refunded…
The grind to unlock Legion Allied Races isn’t that b- remembers Suramar …alright, apart from Nightborne, it isn’t that bad. You do Highmountain anyway while leveling and you also get XP while doing Argus- OK who am I kidding. It’s a pain in the butt if you’ve started playing in BfA or missed Legion completely.
P.S. The new forum’s censorship of words like @ss, cr@p, $hit… bloody seriously this SJW bull$hit…
Crap isn’t censored, though, and others were always censored, just in a different way.
to be fair the actual mag’har scenario is really dank
