Based and redpilled.
Leveling in general feels like a piece of clothing that doesnât quite fit. Youâre getting too much XP to properly experience any zones while leveling (besides during the current expansion, I guess?) but getting to max level takes long enough to feel like a daunting task when you start an alt.
Besides that not all the levels you gain are meaningful at all besides as a âhigher number next to the portraintâ thing. There are too many levels where nothing happens beyond a slight stat increase. No new abilities. No new areas. No new dungeons. Nothing.
I guess a level squish might be appropriate at this point.

I donât want a level squish because that would just make levels take longer even if they feel more meaningful. I just want it to be faster. At least 15% faster. Iâm accustomed to old MMOâs where levels past 150 were the norm in some of them.

I feel you, man. I just want the content I go through, even the outdated content, to feel meaningful again. Right now it doesnât fit. Maybe a level squish fixes that but Iâm really not sure.
A level squish seems to be on the table, thereâs a survey going around from Blizzard asking about it.
Frankly? Itâs needed. 120 levels used to be the stuff youâd only see on modded private servers and asian MMOs. Many, MANY classes have massive stretches where they get nothing. Talents are very spread out at times, and many talent rows have an obvious best choice and two crappy choices, so it just feels like you got a single ability after about 40 levels of work in some cases.
Now you get nothing for leveling 100-110, and Iâm sure once Azerite gear explodes or whatever weâll then go 100-120 and get nothing. WoD at least gave us new perks/passives to make up for a lack of new abilities. But since then weâve only ever lost stuff. Frankly thatâs my biggest peeve with levelingâs design:
Itâs been three expansions since any class got a genuinely new ability in their core kit. Not including talents (Which are often just abilities that got pruned CONSECRATION WHY ARE YOU A TALENT???), and not including azerite or artifact stuff which is destined to be temporary. I am actually struggling to recall when we got a new ability for every class. MoP?
FFXIVs upcoming expansion has been particularly exciting for me because of new class abilities more than anything. Many of which look awesome or greatly impact the class gameplay in some form. Whereas in WoW⊠again, I think MoP was the last time classes actually evolved instead of devolved.
I suspect they could make the squish more palatable ift hey just made Outland and Northrend optional, and let you do Late-Cata/MoP quests from 60. That alone would cut 20 maybe 40 levels off the cap if they squished it right. It would also solve the famous time travelling worgen death knight problem weâve had since Cata.

Just saw the Nosferatu in the new Masquerade game.
This might be just me but Iâm pretty sure they changed their look from ghouls like the Aswang to disfigured humans.
Trying to find maps for a sci fi RPG session is a pain. A metric ton of free maps for fantasy stuff but sci fi maps and tiles are all behind pay walls.
I should just learn how to draw myself⊠Come to think of it though, I might be able to throw together a 3D map then just take a snapshot render from a topdown view. Wouldnât be super pretty but it might work.
