Kingston HyperX Cloud II are excellent, used them for years. They understood the need for good sound and comfort over “GAEMUHZ” branding or buzzwords.
Many gaming headsets especially cheap out on sound really badly but these have been really solid with a good mic, and they’re comfy and soundproof. They’re a bit more expensive than normal headphones/headsets but it’s for good reason. They’re actual dedicated headphones with a mic attached rather than a mic with two cans attached to it with an Xbox logo.
I feel so mixed about them, because on one hand, I liked the games. Particuarly TWD and the wolves among us.
On the other hand, they sound like a straight up scumbag company when you look into why they closed down, something I made a peeve of mine months ago too
The management of Telltale didnt treat their workers as basic human beings, and also just bailed on everything due to poor decision makings from themselves.
Actually you can… But it has to be incentivised and rewarded handsomely when it is visible.
However yeah… Telltalr employees really were treated like sub humans.
Actual Peeve : I have no idea what Ubisoft were thinking in making Co-op missions in AC unity but never giving any tools for communication… No chat, no voice… Everyone goes for the “I’m a one man army” optio’ everytime.
If you’re going to make a co-op mission/map/mode and not include any chats, pre-set emotes or voicecalls by the characters are kinda crucial. And can work just as fine.
Yeah there are still people playing it… I guess it’s thanks to the free hand out of the game when Notre Dame burned and Ubisoft wanted to be a cool kid.
Some people do play the game like assassins… But that only lasts for as long as they don’t get spotted summoning forth dozens of enemies… Then they don’t care anymore.
I had the older version of HyperX Clouds before the need for a new pair appeared. Read about them a bit, even considered HyperX Cloud 2 for a bit. But the issue is that as far as I know, I’d be unable to make good use of them since they’re plugged in through USB rather than a jack which complicates plugging it into sound cards (planning to get a sound card in my new PC). Other than that, they’d be great. Maybe the HyperX Cloud Alpha are worth a try in my case?
There’s a mini-soundcard type thing that acts as a massive extention, where you adjust volume, the 7.1 mode and such. The jack plugs into that then you plug the USB end from the soundcard into your PC. That said the jack cable is fairly short, obviously meant for scenarios where you might use it on a handheld device or something, while USB+Card is intended for desktop use. A jack extension might work but that may compromise sound quality, and it might disable the mic.
It does also come with a double pronged jack plug, which is probably what you want to use if you intend to use the jack instead of the USB. My guess is it lets you use the mic and speaker jacks at once. But I’ve never used it.
I still don’t have WoD flying and I didn’t get Legion flying except by accident in 7.3. Frankly with flight points being insanely convinient and the whistle being a thing I never really felt like I needed flying tbh.
