Then don’t do that.
It’s kind of a situation of damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
Play the character you want and have fun? Sure but you’ll piss off your team and the comp might not be as optimal as possible… And nothing says that you’ll have fun either if you pick a character that is already countered on by the other side.
Play a toon which you’re not comfortable with but it’s good for the team? Won’t be as fun… Doesn’t necessarily ensures victory either… Actually it’s only fun if you win, the collective sense of victory dulls the unfun aspect of playing a toon you don’t like. That feeling however, only gets worse if you frequently lose games and makes you want to flip every table.
There’s no clear cut answer here. Do what feels righg really.
Well obviously, it is why I have not played competitive since.
Exactly, don’t play competitive!
Though, Reinhardt is fun. I originally only played him and Junkyboi.
It’s honestly quite annoying that they’ve sneakily timed 8.2 to coincide w/ FFXIV Shadowbringers’ launch, as I’m of a mind to play both (nothing to do until Uni starts in Sept); while WoW isn’t in the best state RN, I still think the raiding gameplay is miles ahead of FF, but the story / lore just isn’t able to compete.
Welp, then I can recommend playing quick play. There you can just pick whatever and play whatever.
Wrong mindset to have in competitive.
Your mindset should be, atleast in competitive, to win. Filling X role is a need, even if it’s the same hero over and over again.
In which rank did you play? Because that doesn’t sound like they have much of an idea what they are doing.
Also some general advice no matter what role in no matter what game you play: let the bad players die. If you see some Genji or whatever charging in then let him die. He is disposeable. Treat teammates like that as a meatshield. Once you see an opening use it wisely when your team is all around you.
Course it is, but so is picking any other character and then trying to dictate what others should play to make your choice work. Good cooperation requires everyone to be somewhat flexible or at least friendly.
If you go into comp expecting to play just that one hero with a specific set-up you better go in there with a preformed group.
And Chíeun’s account doesn’t exactly sound like something straight from Masters or above so the group roughly filling out into something resembling a 2-2-2 setup and everyone playing the heroes they enjoy (and are good at) is probably going to trump whatever meta is flying around anyway.
Woke strat is to main tank and healers in OW.
Reindhart and Moira are my favorite characters in the game so I am having fun AND doing good stuff for the team.
Eh, I’m just waiting for 8.2.5. Where they:
-
Update worgen at long last
-
Inevitably fix or change whatever stuff they broke or got wrong
I got Shadowbringers to occupy me until then.
So, how are we mainland europeans preparing for the absolutely disgusting upcoming 40 degree heatwave?
I don’t have a proper AC, my windows all face the sun when it is at its peak, and I have to work as well. So, I will probably die because my head will explode.
Perhaps I should sleep in my car as its the only thing that has AC.
Window shutters on the outside of the windows. A big fan. Stocked up the fridge and the freezer. Tuesday and Wednesday are supposed to be the worst here, thankfully got Wednesday off.
Just gonna lie around in the coolest room I can find.
If you have a bathtub, spend some time in it. Even without water, it should be one of the coolest room in your place (and if you can just let a bit of water.)
Use and abuse wet fabric to wet the back of your neck, your back and your chest if you can. (Wet hair can help too, if possible.)
Stock on water, or seriously any liquid. Drinking is important, fruit juice, soda, doesn’t matter as long as you keep yourself hydrated.
Don’t stand in the sun without a hat/cap/something. (Heatstrock is so not fun, I assure you.)
Try to stay aware of yourself; as in, if you feel light-headed, sounds are getting muffled, you’re much better to sit or kneel rather than faint from your full height. (And people will generally stop and come help you if they see you sitting on the ground in public places.)
I hope that can help at least some people. Be safe! o/
I’ve just accepted my fate and the fact that the near future will be hellish for a while.
Pet Peeve, Atahalni got white washed.
Who? What?
I replaced his grimtotem coalwash with andushine, the nr. 1 polish for paladins.
My f- god ever since competitive mode allows for rank earning in OW… Every single mother effing bastard plays low skill toons like Mcree, Moira, Reaper and Road.
Every game is excruciatingly painful for the Soldier, Hanzo, Junk main that I am… Ungodmy frustrating to see yourself constantly stunned by a Mcree who right clicks, Ksed by skilless Moira f******, obliterated in single shot after being hooked by a road or getting ganged by a bunch of reapers.
Uuuuuhh I can’t wait until this is over and I can go back to fun and diverse roster Deathmatches.
I just tanked most of Haukke Manor in FF14… as a dragoon all while the tank threw bile at the healer.
There are FFA matches in custom games also… git gud.
Not really a peeve, more of a sad thought, but I think we scared of Harrydrud. it sounded like the guy just wanted friends.
