the usage of NPC’s in the new patch.
Right at the introduction quest you will find ren’dorei npc’s lying on the ground and being dead, named “7th Legion Trooper” (Or something along those lines, I forgot).
Imagine being the elite task force of elite task forces that is lorewise like under 1% of the population of the 10% remaining high elves and then you get send into battle just to die in the first 5 minutes of arriving. Not to speak about dying on the ships as you crash down in the cutscene.
Imagine you’re a being that has vast and deep knowledge on the void. Being even infused with it and in addition being a former sin’dorei that have knowledge that outreaches most other races. Fighting a void threat that YOU have major knowledge on and possibly even know how to defeat. Survived the scourge invasion of your homeland that killed 90% of your kind.
Just to get send into death by your higher ups that send you straight onto the battlefield like any common soldier.

And he cant even carry a bow… guess he got shafted then.
7th Legion isn’t elite anymore because everyone is 7th Legion.
It’s part of Anduin’s “Feel Better” program where he was worried that the other battlegroups weren’t feeling ‘elite’ enough so he just folded every single part of the Alliance military into the 7th Legion.
We can all see how that worked out though lmaooooooooooooooooooooooo

I guess so but void elves still aren’t 7th legion (I think???). Weren’t they suppose to be Alleria’s special forces commando thing outside of any other Alliance military force?
I just don’t know anymore.
7th Legion might as well just be generic Alliance troops at this point. They show up everywhere and die as easily as any other unit.

Basically, they reduced their elite-ness. In Vanilla, WotLK, Cataclysm and Legion they felt truly elite, and being some chosen soldiers.
In bfa, they are like just expeditionary forces…

It’s probably a side effect of Anduin taking over. The war council assembles to discuss the latest threat and suggest how to respond, Anduin thinks; “Why not send our best dudes out there?” but the problem is that is his response for every problem.
Kobolds causing problems in Elwynn Forest again? Send our best bois out. Rats in the deeprun tram? Sounds like a job for the 7th Legion.
Over time the numbers dwindle, many through death on the frontlines others through fatigue. The legion wasn’t meant for the kind of work that they are being sent out to do and as they now need to be quickly replaced, the training and previous experience normally required to join the legion is reduced to allow for the quicker turnover.
The legion is therefore watered down and is now an elite unit in name only.

They’re listed as 7th Legion. Along with all the other playable races on the Alliance (plus high elves).

Is there an official list which races are part of it? Or a quest or so?
I just realised how we are in a war after the whole Legion thing. The reason for it probably being that the numbers dwindle extremely since the Legions defeat. So they just accept anyone at this point.

“Clever hinting” by Blizzard is misnomer. What they consider clever hinting is by doing something in the story, and then retconning the previous lore to make it intended all along.

They’re apparently the Alliance elite. So I would wager any Alliance race can be in it? Logical conclusion, but not out right stated.

Blacktalon agents watch you in Highmoutain during the quest for the Heart there. Does that mean Wrathion is coming back?
I saw one in Nazjatar too.
They said he’d be involved with the dragon isles which is apparently due sometime this expac but honestly it seems like they still dunno what they’re doing with him.
It’s really great that as his greatest champion who assisted him throughout the pandaria campaign (and potentially with Deathwing himself if you’re a rogue) his agents tell you nothing.
Maybe I could help Wrathion, with whatever it is you have planned.
(he doesn’t have anything planned because blizz aren’t smart with their characters)

Peeve: To continue the war campaign to get the Tauren heritage storyline, I need one of those stupid followers at level 3. It takes 6 dailies to get them to level 3 and I did two dailies yesterday.
