But that is basically the entire intended point of Overlord, though itâs an OP protagonist done right unlike, say, Kirito from SAO up until recently. The light novel like I said is superior to the anime in any case, and it has a lot of unique elements to it different from other isekai source material.
Ainz is when you have a full party of level 100 Pokemon and you go back to Route 1 for no reason at all.

Just because itâs the point doesnât mean itâs not boring, to be honest.
A story succeeding at telling the story it wants to tell doesnât by default make said story actually interesting.

There are some series that just cannot be adapted properly into an anime that is as good as the source material depending on how many episodes it has. Though I believe Overlord is a solid anime in its own right, Tokyo Ghoul comes to mind as something that could have been so much better but instead :re was rushed through because of a lack of episodes.
If Overlord had double the episodes per season more of the masterpieces that are the light novels could be properly adapted, but alas.

The Anime is alright IMO, for a reverse Isekai Iâve seen far worse out there and I can count those I enjoy on a single hand (Man, I miss Konosuba), graphism of Overlord are pretty good compared to most Anime and they do do a good job for the comedic parts.
Now the Light novel⌠Oh my, so much better, gives an excellent insight upon every characterâs thoughts, how Ainz is inside because a skeleton face doesnât translate emotions well.
DBZ best anime. Change my mind.

Definitely. The LNs are sadly on a one-year hiatus right now, so until weâre getting the next volume I doubt weâll see a Season 4 announcement until then. The good thing about Season 4 is that it will be building up towards credible threats that could pose an actual challenge to Ainz because they are aware of YGGDRASSIL and the players that came before him.
My childhood. Itâs just a shame thereâs been so much controversy with the English VAs regarding certain unproven accusations towards the Broly VA. Itâs also just a matter of time until weâre getting a new Dragon Ball series after the success of the movie.
