Pet Peeve: The Undying

Yes, but I mean that if a huge, gigantic spider fits the raid theme for a boss, Blizzard shouldn’t skip out on adding that type of boss just because a couple of people have Arachnophobia.

I can’t tell you because it’d spoil the surprise.

You became Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul? Damn, I’m sorry for having to change your entire hair color at the writers’ whim.

I liked that quest so much.

The Horde was green to me from the start. Lor’themar and Genn teasing each other, Thalyssra and Jaina working together. I liked all the characters present!

Hopefully a sign for 9.0. :fist:

Incredibly jarring to go from a Battle for Nazjatar to Let’s Be Friends Forever in the quest lines, though.

I killed a lot of Horde soldiers to end up palling up with Lorthemar, I’m just saying

Not saying I am endearing, just saying that I was not being any of the above things you stated and it’s honestly not my fault you’re interpreting it like that.

This is what I mean, there are alot of relatively large groups with various phobias, if Blizzard would take all of those phobias into account when designing their zones, hostile NPCs, and bosses we’d be hitting shapeless blobs on a plain (but mountaines, but plain, because there are people afraid of open spaces, but there are also people afraid of mountains) field in every zone, for every fight, with every enemy, in every faction.

I love you.

Honestly, no matter what Blizzard decides, they’re going to have to exclude people.

There’s Skywall, which excludes people, there’s Vashj’ir which excludes people, there’s Ironforge which excludes people, there’s Hyjal which excludes people, there’s flying which excludes people.

:fire:

Honestly, normally I respect Moody and Chieun, but not when it’s about this, sorry Moods and Chi.

A questionable 5% of the playerbase is mass market nowadays?

Sorry to say but by your own words, 95% has no phobia, so they are the true mass market Blizzard aims for, not the phobic minority.

This is why I’ve taken to muting threads on here if I get tangled in a back and forth. Or if I make a Reddit comment that I know is going to get some kind of confrontational response I disable inbox replies on that comment.

Yeah, I admit it’s cool lore how Genn is apparently racist against elves.

…What? Because he said ‘It’s a good thing we did not meet on the battlefield, as I’d have to kill you?’ Paraphrasing as I don’t remember the exact words but he definitely did not say ‘grrr longear scum’.

Genn Greymane: Two against one, is it? You are right to beware of me, elf.

Genn Greymane: Hmph. You fight well… for an elf.

Idk seems very weird to call it out like that to me.

He never said that for me. Are you sure it is not Horde only?

Seems totally like Blizzard to make artificially make opposing faction characters look worse for no reason.

Doesn’t sound racist to me, though.

What if he considers the blood elven martial philosophy inferior to the human, and worgen, one?

Also, first one sounds just like a warning, not a “haha inferior elf, you dumb knife ears”.

I’m not, and I’m definitely not ranking up other characters friendships to find out 'cos eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. I just want flying.

Though I’ll probably keep ranking up the friends on Elly 'cos it unlocks a rank 3 essence that I should try to get now before my sub drops.

I included the first one to show that he’s clearly focused on lor’themar’s race as a reason to denigrate him rather than just a single mention. He even stresses “elf” with the first line, giving it emphasis in the voice acting.

I’d have thought better of you though, gnome.

Yeah, but there’s like, 8 species of elf.

Night elf, nightborne elf, high elf, blood elf, void elf, felblood elf, wretched elf, withered elf, undeath elf and fel elf.

Thanks, elf

I just got flying btw. Good times.

Also it’s probably another case of BfD ‘we make the other faction look worse depending on which one you play’. Pretty desperate of you, Blizz.

Gz

Yeah it sucks. I get they need slightly different dialogue for who has the javelins but oh well lol

I guess he thinks they’re all bad at fighting. Someone should tell Tyrande. :male_detective:

See, I already told people, on my night elf, these youths aren’t to be trusted with Goldrinns curse!

Unrelated peeve: I’ve been replaying Baldur’s Gate 1+2 and it’s way way too easy to end up on a “romance” path just by being nice and friendly, and then the only way you have to get off the romance path (say, because you’re not interested or want to romance someone else) is to be unnecessarily rude or mean.

I’m not gonna get too harsh on BG2 'cos it’s almost two decades old and it was a pinnacle at its time but it’s the sort of thing which still crops up in more modern RPGs too. Just…let me let people down gently. I still wanna be friends, but I don’t wanna bang, okay?

Especially when it’s Jaheira who’s basically like my aunt who’s trying to get with me after her husband died what the HECK was the thought behind that bioware.

Similar problem with later Bioware games where you suddenly end up in a weird love triangle because you’re just hanging out with your people and being nice.

“YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE OF US!”

I choose neither. GTFO I have a world to save.

Jaheira was definitely the creepiest Romance option in that game if you’d played BG1 which is impressive given two of the other paths were a traumatized former child-slave and a ‘nice guy’ who literally refers to your character as milady.

What I’m saying is - Viconia was the best Romance option.
