Made a Miqo’te on Chaos/Omega. Started off as Arcanist.
Had 15 wipes on Heroic Za’qul… oh god, what an absolute nightmare to pug he is. You need to assign people to stuff (which is in general a pain in pugs), the healing requirements feel quite intense, and the tentacles sometimes appear in such an unpredictable way that there’s no way the entire pug group survives it. What an annoying fight. I hate it.

This is gonna be true when, besides Talents, every single class/spec is a carbon copy of everyone else who picked that. And talents barely matter in the grand scheme of things, its not like they radically change a rotation or anything.
In fact, that’s a peeve, one I know will never change; WoW being so hardcore built up around the oldschool trinity and a hard, ‘best’ rotation. Rather than, y’know, player options that can be FUN to play (yes, I know, send the BlizzPolice to lock me up for the F word) and allow variation.
Like, allow Warriors to pick their specs, and then diversify. I mean, you have 2H tanks for DKs, why not let Warriors have a x2 1H or 2H Tank? Allow them to pick being solid AoE dealers or ST monsters, mix in some CC (and make CC more meaningful than anaemic 4 second stuns and shiz) and, boom. Far more interesting.
Sadly, this insistence on juggling PVE and PVP will forever mean that neither are ever going to get to be Very Good. I can dream, I guess

I’m convinced that Blizzard write the (current) quests with human+orc warrior as the assumed character.
I base my warrior characters on For Honor classes and things like that rather than the WoW abilities, because honestly it’s easier to explain that than the random consistency-defying-for-no-reason WoW warrior.
Like, is ‘mortal strike’ even a concept IC? You can make a swing with your axe to deliberately target a vital area and make the opponent more difficult to heal, but that is far more generic as a concept than the specific things like ‘frostbolt’ which is a clearly defined, consistent spell.

That doesn’t allow variation but rather it enforces it. You force the players to play a ST spec or AoE spec depending on the situation, not allowing them choose what they want to play. I know I wouldn’t want that.
I think the best way to allow variety is to make everything as equal as possible with only minor performance differences between specs and even smaller differences between talents and I believe this is what Blizzard is trying to do. That way you can pick the spec and talents that you like and enjoy the most the most without having to worry that you gimp yourself just by picking your favorite talent.
Unfortunately, variety is its own worst enemy because the more variables you have, the more difficult it is to balance it all, which tends to lead to those “hard best rotations”. Take for example ESO: technically it has tremendous amount of variety available to the player regardless of their chosen class but it also has incredibly strict endgame meta because balancing all the available builds is a ridiculously difficult task if not impossible.

As I said, because of the impossible balancing act, I know its never gonna happen.
City of Heroes was my first MMO, and still the one I had the most fun with (have? since its back out in the wild now, kinda) because of the massive character customisation, but I know people would rage at that system because there was not an ‘endgame’ for the longest time, and PVP was basically left to rot because the main focus was co-op PVE.
Id just like improvements on WoWs status quo, tbh.
Warrior is likely the blandest class in this game. Even hunters have more character to them. It’s a shame really. Warriors had a chance to be fleshed out in the Legion, but instead all they got was some lame pseudo-Norse nonsense most warriors on Azeroth can’t even relate to.

Still. HW>SB is far better than ARR>HW. Id rather bite a shotgun barrel than go through 2.X again. I literally bought a skip the moment I hit 50 last time I moved to a server.

They have to eat a pretty big meal… Multiplied by four. They’re even using the in-game party finder to try and find people to help them eat it all. But there’s only a single code per family meal…
