Pet peeves: The return (Part 1)

Thane is an incredible character and I made a female shepherd on my second run through just to romance him. Made me love him even more.

“Hello I am Soldier NPC. I was in the Alliance once, now I am in Cerberus. I have daddy issues.”

“I’m a soldier.”

His romance is so bittersweet :sob:

I had a similar feeling with James Vega from 3. I don’t remember him at all, tbh I’m surprised I even remember his name.

I remember that he was buff as hell, to a ridiculous degree, just absolutely ripped beefcake 300% muscle.

And you know, I can respect that.

James has some funny moments, but his overall character is basically to be there and ask questions for new players.

And I don’t know…CoD fans?

I honestly kinda liked Vega. Don’t know why. Maybe it’s the “I love big meaty men” part of my brain.

Did any of you do the pull-ups with him on Citadel?

That was such a waste of 30+ minutes.

I do remember something about Vega. He was doing lifts when I turned up to talk to him, and I’m pretty sure he like boxed with shepherd or something and it looked weird in animation.

My biggest annoyance with him is an issue ME3 has overall with characters.

If you play Femshep, the game basically forces you to flirt with him without choice. Femshep will always flirt with him, and your choice is to either go all the way(which it heavily pushes at you) or keep flirting.

Not to stop doing it. Because the non-chosen dialogues with Vega is always flirting+your femshep always liking it and flirting back, THEN you get some choices on what to say.

I don’t know why I even want to know this. But could you boink Javik?

Making Edi into a sexy robot was an unforgiveable sin. I didn’t need it, I was happy with just having a sassy computer on the ship that my pilot weirdly flirted with.

I didn’t need them to hook up.

You can, he is one of the big romance companions apparantly.

I never tried.

Their chemistry when she was just the ship was even funnier. Because they acted like basically a married couple already.

Then it got weirder.

How does that even work in his mind? Dude basically woke up to a world where orangutans are the rulers of the earth.

you get to own him in a fist fight I’m pretty sure

reading the tvtropes for mass effect cut content makes me sad, especially ME3, because of the stuff that got cut into DLC
“so and so was more integrated at first, before becoming DLC”
“this was more closely linked, before becoming DLC”

Javik clearly has a thing for the “primitives” fetish fantasy.

My first playthrough of Mass Effect was without Javik. Which is dumb because when I played it the second time with him it felt really stupid that he wasn’t included given how important he is to the overarching plot.

Their dlc policy especially in 3 was atrocious.

The best ME Romance is No Romance I say, lovingly gazing at a picture of the ship.

I mean… I’d totally do Normandy if it was an option.

Liara’s romance is actually kinda cute if you follow it through all 3 games(with 2’s DLC).
