Pet peeves: The return (Part 1)

I’m pretty sure more or less that but just for mine craft gold bars already existed. I remember getting in trouble for building cobblestone brutalist tower blocks around peoples prime real estate on one server.

The internet and greedy people never cease to disappoint in stupidity

but what if we made them destroy the environment though??

Yes but now it’s got B L O C K C H A I N

Why am I reminded on that one three-digit-price-tag juicer that required a wifi connection in order to operate, and that was its sole selling point?

Duct-taping the latest technological achievement to a product will not make that product sell more.

Sadly this probably isn’t the case.

It doesn’t make the item more useful but it will move product.

nathria is one of the worst raid tiers they’ve churned out, imo

source: i am re-killing council of blood currently to the soothing sounds of bring me the horizon and breaking benjamin.

there’s a few decent dungeons but they’re all turned into painful slogs as a DK main in M+ tho.

I don’t really agree with this. I’ll clarify and say that I’m 7/10M and 224ilvl and I’ve done way less non-raid content in SL than I did in BFA + Legion.

M+ is a literal dead waste of time for me until 9.1 when Valor will become useful and I’ll need to re-farm the stupid quantum cube trinket and it pretty much has been for me as soon as I was able to reliably get HC Denathrius loot and the first 3 bosses of Mythic from the vault.

The only PvP I’ve personally done has been for the sake of doing PvP. BG’s are still gucci, aside from the awful changes they did to Deepwind Gorge.

I do however think the lower progress (e.g. HC prog and below) you are the more of an incentive there’ll be to hit the M+ gym grind, but I also personally think there’s probably going to be bigger issues than just gear there.

The achillies heel of my argument is probably that I’m a gamer in a guild that’s crowning dish is Nathria M, though, so I probably have a very blessed PoV. This just caught my eye and I thought I’d throw some thoughts in.

I think SL is straight garbage, even though I’m comfortably raid logging now.

Honestly, keeping something like this on the blockchain almost makes sense since you have an immutable piece of data to tell you who owns what. A powerhungry mod can’t just hand it over to someone else.
Except they kind of need a backdoor incase someone stops playing.
And a powerhungry admin could just uninstall the mod.

Thankfully, the commercial failure of that juicer I mentioned - Juicero, now that I recall the name - is evidence that cutting edge technology isn’t enough to move product on its own.

For a first raid of the expantion it’s already ahead of HM, EN and Uldir. I’d even wager and say it’s better than anything BFA gave us bar BoD which was a top tier raid.

Unironically, council is my favorite fight in the raid and I longingly look at my friend/former co-officer who killed it a week or two back on Mythic.

Supposedly being a DK main is just slog™, which is a shame as DK is imo a fun class to play.
But the dungeons are melee unfriendly on purpose, looking at how melee friend BFA ones were. Do feel it’s abit too much though.

I don’t raid mythic anymore, it takes too much time away from my RP guild, so my perspective is from heroic (I’ve dropped content entirely now).

M+ rewards, for a heroic raider at least, are grossly overpowered relative to effort invested. An almost mythic raid-level item in the vault for doing one (or four, or ten if you’re insane) +10 was insane, especially when raids drop-feed loot.

BS. HM was fantastic.

I loved EN too, even if it was arguably too easy in some parts, but then that might have been part of me just liking most of Legion in general.

HM was a weak raid and very very overshadowed by the quality raid that was and still is BRF. It’s not a bad raid in the grandscheme, but it was still a weak intro raid.

Loved EN aesthetic, but the fights were meh.
Generally felt most of Legion as meh watching on the sidelines as I quit week 3? 4? of raid due to IRL and same reason I did now: the grind + Legion legendaries was an awful system.

I miss old WoW.

Fookin fight me. HM was peak aesthetic. BRF was also good but HM’s still the favourite. HFC was boring, though.

HM fights = nice, B+ tier, Imperator M A tier fight.
HM Aesthetic = very… underwhelming not really telling me Ogre Capital at their peak.

BRF was probably the best raid we’ve had in newer times tied with BoD in fights but beating it in aesthetic. BRF was all I wanted from an Iron Horde raid.

HFC was very very boring, but fights were enjoyable enough to not keep me bored, except for the first fight. No to pure trash fights please, we ended up having most of the raid AFK on farm runs just because nobody felt it.

I am sorry, Aldru, when the revolution comes I cannot vouchsafe your safety.

It’s okay, just means I can die the way the gods intended it.

yo do i get banned if i post the clown emoji here or what

For real though, generally disagree with the above. I don’t have enough experience with HM as current to say too much (hardstuck tectus normal lol), but Uldir blows this out of the water.

Uldir M, anyway. I think Nathria HC is excellent (and better), but the Mythic variants are just choc full of annoyances and stupid stuff.

Personally can’t understand how anyone can enjoy Council. The Mythic version especially is a 10 min slog with 3 pointless transition dance phases where nothing happens. It’s about 4 minutes too long and the dance phases should have been cut entirely. There’s just no reason for a mid-tier fight to be 10 minutes long.

Yeah. I think M+ has been a real weird introduction to WoW’s gearing ecosystem. I love it to pieces because it’s actual content that’s repeatable and doable at pretty much any time, but the challenge generally only comes once you’re going beyond +15 and up towards +20. The kicker is that there’s no real reason to do that.

Doing that weekly 15 just isn’t remotely comparable to the effort and time it takes to get the equivalent Raid or PvP rewards. I was going to say I sort of wish they’d “fix” it but I’m not sure how exactly you’d go about it.

52 hours into P5R and still not recruited Haru :pensive: they really be teasin’.

I have to, realistically, go to sleep and get up early for an exam tomorrow.

I don’t really want to. Partially because the last few subjects I’m getting through are boring me to tears, but mostly because I grabbed Assassins Creed Odyssey while it was on massively reduced price and, yeah, it’s not a perfect game. Yeah, some of the animation is janky, and sometimes the ragdolls break in a very obvious way, and yeah etc etc…

But my gods am I having fun sparta kicking people and bullying pirates in my ship.

Nah, you would if I reported it but you’re entitled to your own opinion on raids

Let’s just agree to disagree on CN vs Uldir, personally Uldir was a so-so raid, gets more flack than it deserves but was weak imo.

Can’t speak much for M Nathria (considering I quit almsot 2months back) but for me it looks more interesting and fun than the Uldir M fights. But in general modern Mythic fights just feel overbloated for the sake of ability bloat (look at EP for ex.)

Just personal prefference innit, my (former) guildies were very split on council, some absolutely hated it and found it a slog of 7-10mins (early kills were long) and others like myself found it fun, especially the little dance break.

I do agree it was a long fight and should be shortened, but, eh we’ve had longer fights esp on the harder difficulties.

We just have different taste in raids I’d say :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
