I’ve yet to download it for hopefully obvious reasons, so I will live in blissful ignorance of any writing problems…beyond the basic conceptual one.

I only really know about what’s actually in it from 2nd hand trip reports but allegedly the actual writing is fine it’s really just got the big conceptual problem which is to be fair, a very big problem.

A lot of RPGs are like that, railroading romance just for treating your companion with a modicum of humanity. It made for awkwardness in dragon age too.

Also in real life with neckbeards always assuming there are dialogue options IRL for girls that will lead to romance if you’re friendly.

Feels more of a stylistic choice than necesarily software choice.
Regardless it killed a lot of the atmosphere and the blood and other fluids on the ground is deffo 343 doing a choice in making it “clean”.

Edit: they also used the Saber 3D engine rather than Gearbox base soo. Point still stands though.

I feel the best engine is the devs putting their heart and soul into a game
But yeah SOMA works better, not that I’m complaining as CE Anniversary plays the same as CE did back then, with some minor changes like Warthog controls feeling a lot less tanky.
