The english intro was typical of the era. But I don’t care, it was great. Animated wonderfully too when they pulled out all the stops in the battles.
And the gameboy games were cool too.

MORE POWER
NGL I like medabots more than I liked the pokémon show.
The main characters were not half as annoying.
Yeah. I mean I still bought into the Pokemon craze back in the day, but Medabots has stuck with me for far longer. And it’s getting/has a bluray release somewhere in the ether, and I must have it.
Plus there’s none of the animal abuse or using massively destructive monsters in war stuff that Pokemon has. Seriously, Lieutenant Surge was in a war that used Pokemon! Why does everyone overlook this!
Better to have it be actual robots. With a damn catchy intro.
Pokémon has been with me longer, I love pokémon.
I bought pokémon plushes last time I went to Expo 9before the pandemic)
Just cannot stand Ash in the series.
My friend was into Cardcaptors.
Me though? Definitely Shaman King.
I have the 1st 6 books of the manga too.
Free skeletons is a fantastic advantage. Playing similar to tomb kings, basic bones soak damage while your elites move in to chew up an exhausted enemy turned noodly from bashing your trash.
Also, free unit spam stack somewhat mitigates the dirty stinkin’ AI’s income bonus to consistently spit out two provinces’ worth of troops from one isolated town as if they’re a certain tiny village of gauls.
Insofar as it ever existed, really - the archaeological evidence for Roman Britain having a particularly cohesive culture or way of life is pretty flimsy outside of areas with a lot of direct Roman influence like ports or military bases. Hell, the Anglo-Saxons were encountering the same burial rites (my reading mostly focused on burial practices, admittedly) that had been performed since the Iron Age. Rome’s influence in the North of England outside of places like York or Hadrian’s Wall was pretty weak in general.
My reading of Roman Britain generally highlighted how sharp the rural/urban divide was in terms of culture and how shallow the cultural penetration of Rome was in that regard. Really interesting stuff honestly
Eizouken and A Place Further Than The Universe are both really good
My laptop was out for a few days and away for repairs and it gets back and oh gee whiz a lot of things seemed to have happened on the AD-EU forums huh
I grew up in a town named after being a salt mine, which in Roman terms was basically gold, and next to Chester which is one of the most well-preserved Roman cities.
just a pair of fun facts from me to you
Also highly recommend Durarara! and Baccano! (apparently I like anime that shout) - one’s an asynchronous story about a train robbery that gets a supernatural twist and the other one has a biker lady whose head is made of smoke
That’s one that I keep hearing about, think I should watch, and then forget about before watching it.
log into my main since got to level WAR 1 level to get to 71.
none of my bars are sorted.
log into Au Ra who has semi sorted bars.
Here’s her axe;

I frantically begin to triangulate Starshade’s position so I can send them a care package.
Yeah, but there was some kind of Romano-British way of life in the urban centres, what few remained after the Romans left. It’s still quite interesting at just how quickly the Anglo Saxons came to establish their own culture over the Britons.
Obviously I’m glossing over a lot. There’s a great deal on this topic alone, but just as a “at a glance” touch on the topic, it’s quite interesting.
I’m starting to think I need this mod too…
RUDE
(accurate)
I live in Nottingham these days, but I grew up in Northwich (wich is an old word for a salt mine)
If you’re serious Elly has my discord and I love mountain dew xoxo
