Pet peeves: The return (Part 11)

I bought it years ago i think, seemed neat. Redownloaded it years ago and it’s probably one of the very few early access games that delivered.

The race selection killed it for me. Nothing interesting in there.

Lack of dwarves is lame.
Humans and elves? Pfft.

… Why did I do that ._.
I wish I had one of those normal brains, where you know something is Bad and therefore don’t look at it.
MY festering greymatter goes "But it makes the brain chemicals! :V "
Yes, it does. The bad brain chemicals! Not the other ones! You are supposed to know the difference!

It’s a little worse in that you’re expected by the story to be a godlike.

Blegh.

I just wanna be a blue aumauan (or a human male with a longsword). No blessed by gods thanks.

as with any eora-set game, i simply hope that mioletta [the archmage who made all the magic missile spells] makes an appearance and that she’s a lovely vailan woman with Entirely Too Many pistols and/or wands

Tauren of culture

Even on WoW most of my chars are dwarves and Earthen.
My go to in Warhammer is dwarfs.
Baldur’s gate? Dwarf.
Dragon Age? Dwarf.
LOTRO? Dwarf!

I’m confused - you’re either a human or an elf. Godlikes aren’t an option in Avowed, at least what I can find?

They are also my spirit animal and go to in each of those.

Was always sad they werent a playable choice in guild wars :pensive:

I like dwarves but playing one never feels right :pensive:
Dwarves are for other people to play and for me to look at and think “they’re cool”

Godlikes are a filter put over the top of another race - you’re a godlike which is either an elf or a human I think.

I really like playing dwarfs in TTRPGs but for some reason I almost never play them in computer games. I don’t really know why - it just be that way.

I always play either something monstrous or gremlin like.

Tauren, goblin, dragonborn, argonian etc.

But instead it’s always in character creation

Human
Human but with pointy ears
Human but short
Human but short and fat (Thats a groodge).

And usually thw fat short humans at least have a cool vibe to them. Not so much for others.

Child has now punched the autistic girl in the face, girl insists it was an accident but tbh im not convinced.

Anyway boys now facing a potential internal suspension as the head is tired of the ineffective displays in year 2 so is taking charge herself.

Whilst im sure this will lead to several disciplinary procedures across multiple events… I’ve seen her classroom management.

It’s… poor. So I don’t expect any improvement because the fundamentals are still broken.

Yeah Godlike are like planetouched, but the way it was phrased in being elf/human+unknown godlike with your own choice of what that looks like makes it feel more like “you’re the dragonborn but you’re still a nord/argonian/orc/elf” than the godlikes we’ve seen in PoE1+2 where they’re their own separate distinct races.

Personally I like the dwarves, but, somehow I often end up with a human char instead. Though in LotR: BFME2 they are my favourite faction. Still… maybe I ought to think about a dwarf toon, yet…

  1. I am notoriously bad at playing more than one toon, currently my main is Des.
  2. I sometimes feel as if the good times to play a new toon are already over. Most of the big wars are over and currently… I don’t know, the stuff against Xal’atath just seems all over the place at the moment.

I like tww and I think xal is the best villain wows had in years, but she’s very much the elf girls nemesis not ours.

Oh wow. You throw void balls. We slap about old gods for a day off.
