I want to add a complaint. My Problem with dawntrail is having to play everything else before.
Yeah but then you get to play Shadowbringers (peakbringers).
Yes but then I have to play the start of Endwalker. Shadowbringers is awesome though.
Its a story based mmo thoâŚhaving to play the prior story should be kinda expected
I think that the writers felt like they were tired of the Piltover versus Zaun conflict and wanted to move on to a more magical story with the second season.
⌠In which case, they shouldâve just moved on to another area which is more magical, instead of continuing to use an area built on the conflict between two cities. But Arcane fans wouldâve rioted if they didnât get more Jinx, Caitlyn, Vi and whatnot, so we got another season set in Piltover and Zaun.
More often than not, I hear the opposite, that the start of Dawntrail is so slow and plodding that some of my friends couldnât play for more than an hour without logging off and doing something else more interesting. Meanwhile, while the second half of the expansion was a chaotic mess, it was actually engaging enough that they felt compelled to play through it.
I guess it all depends on how people feel about Tural and Alexandria and the obvious clash between them.
Endwalker is worth it for when you hit the 87 zone. Then you forget about the stupid [REDACTED] questline you have to do before you get to the final zone.
The finale is worth it.
Well I guess it isnât really helping that I have a break of more than⌠a few years since I last consumed anything regarding the ff14 story.
Thatâs fair enough. Youâre not missing anything by not playing the post-Endwalker/6.0 questline.
their setting up new cultures that had no prior existence in the game except for the mamool ja who even though they were present were only presented as âdimwit brute mercenaries.â considering its lore exposure id imagine its the thing rpers would be invested in. ive never seen similar complaints with new culture intros in wow.
FF14 is an MMO? I thought it was a single player game where occasionally some people dropped in to do dungeons with me until I finish the story and then unsubscribe again.
i just thought it was a sims dress up game where people take pictures of their modded face 1 au ras and face 4 miqoâs in the same outfits and poses
Limsa Lominsa is my favourite fashion parade.
Still spoil-y
I did actually like his human-faced form, because itâs like 90% of the way there. The body matches the design heâs always had, and I expected by the end of the show that last 10% would bridge the gap but instead we got⌠disappointment
Also Iâve still not actually ever seen any of arcane so a lot of the more nuanced stuff is missing but I still think Riot have done a stupid thing by looking at Leagueâs canon - which is surprisingly in-depth all things considerd - and going âyeah, nah, Arcane is the main canon nowâ like what
The saga of my goblin berserker barbarian, Not A Pet, continues! Now at level 20.
She has returned pretending to be a halfling with a terrible skin affliction because goblins werenât allowed for this little oneshot adventure. Thankfully none of the other party members are humans (disgusting creatures).
I love BG3, but I have some peevees (spoilers).
Peevees
- Act 3 should have been split into act 3 and 4. Rivington + Lower city and upper city respectfully. To this date I donât know why didnât they do it, it seems like such an obvious way to deal with the whack-a-mole quest popups in act 3.
- Saving Gortash should have been an option (esp. if you are playing Durge).
- Getting the Emperor and Orpheus to work together for the final fight should have been possible.
- Poison and acid damage should have been homebrewed more to make them viable damage sources.
- There should have been more evil aligned companions. Sazza or really any of the gobbos in act 1 seem like an obvious choice. Nere also seems like an obvious one.
No. 2 might have been possible but the fans were too thirsty for him for Larian to consider it
itâs a choice of damnations - make Arcane non-canon and a huge host of new fans coming into League will suddenly run into âwait whatâs House Ferros who is this Camille lady why is Jayce whiteâ problems, which can kill interest in lore before it starts
make it main canon and suddenly you have to rewrite massive swathes of League canon to make it fit, which so far they have not really done
I did see a build that thrives off of poison/acid damage to the point itâs genuinely competitive, but itâs something you need to plan ahead of time with the class choices and items you pick up at each level. Itâs not something you just dabble on the side.
Yes, however many of the encounetrs basically in all of act 2 and many in act 3 have flat out poison immunity.
There are 177 objects immune to poison in the game, and 124 resistant to it.
For comparisonâs sake, there are 31 immune to fire and 141 resistant to it.
Poison spells also target constitution in many/most cases (save for things like chromatic orb) which for non-chaf units tends to be one of their strongest skill checks, resulting often time to shadowheart levels of misses.
