Mentioning the concept of “paint-by-numbers” in a fantasy story and then trying to figure out of that’s too contemporary a concept since they were only officially invented in the 1950s.

some cited its because they wanted to be known for their totally original sci-fi rpg and not another fantasy rpg though hard to say. it was the bag fumble of the century. the only thing i do know for certain is whenever the ME team needed something they got it. if the DA team needed it they were lucky if someone wasnt fired for bothering the higher ups.

I’d actually be more impressed if they had the spine to do that, tbh.

“Yeah, we realised what we put in the end of an epic series was Hot Garbage, so we’re just gonna ignore that and try and do better, sorry and thank you.”

Like, hell yeah I’ll give them some applause for that?

Peeve: Getting into a PUG, tank is being weird in the chat and, being a DH, is catapulting themselves 10 miles ahead, pulling Too Many mobs.
Team wipes, Healer quits, I quit as well.
30 minutes ‘deserter’ debuff is stupid and has been stupid in PUG dungeons forever. Like, ok, SORRY I don’t want to stick around randoms who suck and make the experience un-fun, I guess? Sorry you’re allergic to Fun, Blizz Devs. Stupid design.

If you need something similar you could always go with the grid copy method. That one’s been around for a bit.

Hey, remember the days when you got to Current Expac, and were like “oh damn, all my gear is garbage because of Dungeon RNG and slowly questing while waiting for the queue to pop, I’m about 150+ iLvls low for this… Oh, its ok, I have a [Crafter], I can just make the gear for level 70-71!”

I don’t even know if I remember that, because how long has it NOT been doable? I can craft 3 bits of level 71 gear, with 518 iLvl, and that’s IT. everything else is level 80+. Which is STUPID, because its iLvl is awful!

Let my professions have a damn point, devs!! Or let me BUY a set of starter green kit from a Vendor like I could do back in MOP!

my lukewarm take is that wow’s methods of gearing while levelling and at max has gotten worse over the years. in the distant past a piece of gear you find at level 45 would still be BiS at level 60. normal dungeon gear was fine. heroic was fine. And I remember back in ye olde MoP having pride in making a BoE epic from crafting.

i neglect profs every expac since legion now. gearing is a slog? like if my ilvl falls behind even a few points its somehow the end of the world.

genuinely im starting to prefer how ESO and gw2 gearing works because I can get my BiS from crafting and it will remain relevant forever even if metas change and new gear is added. maybe im getting old.

Meanwhile, once you do get to max level in wow it throws gear at you. And if you’re a class with a tank spec you can just grab yourself gear slightly above 600 and go do 4 delves on 11 for free. Just need patience as the damage isn’t the greatest.

ill be a minor hypocrite here and say that i am mildly thankful for this as its letting me get tier transmogs well before they become legacy on higher tiers

Yeah I missed the hc mage pants from last raid and it’s bothering me a lot. But I also can’t be bothered to do many delves as they’re mostly rather boring.

mage was the one i farmed like a fiend for, especially for the legs so i get it. my alts and main suffered for it.

but i agree on delves alas. i wish undermine had added more than just sidestreet sluice because i find at least the goblins dont feel like half the slog nerubians and fungarians are

The two goblin ones are okay, though the big guys in sidestreet are annoying.
Meanwhile one of the mushroom delves has mobs with way less hp for… some reason? idk

and are easily killed if you deliberately set off the spores on them yeah

Honestly, I hated gw2 gearing. I just… didn’t click with it at all. With ESO I’m not even sure I -care- about gear. It seems more about playstyle than gear directly. I’m fairly sure my gear is terrible but my templar doesn’t seem to have noticed.

WoW? Gear is the difference between my paladin taking ten minute to slog through a quest or 1 minute. It really is TOO important in (ooc) character building. Like it feels like one could go absent any talents, but so long as they had 600+ gear or whatever they’d still be just fine. Because the gears carrying everything.

Lot of people hate the horizontal progression but i don’t mind it. it makes it easy at least that if you want to switch out a build you can just craft it out rather than wait on drops and the highest tier being account rather than soulbound is great for alts.

It depends on what you want to build. Flat stats work but proc sets can really change or add to a playstyle for the better. I prefer chasing thematics over metas so it gives me more room to experiment. You sadly aren’t wrong about it in wow tho and where the only thing players care about is your dumb number on a third party website build will never matter.
