Yes but actually no, I just didn’t like a third of the characters and found the story to not be that compelling as a result. if Yuna and Tidus just fail at getting my attention and my investment as a player/reader in their adventure…

I actually like 10’s Blitzball.
Hell, I got all of Wakka’s legendary upgrades.

Blitzball is arcane and hard to understand, but it is also easy to exploit (stay in your own half and the AI breaks and stops moving, so score once and swim next to your goal to win) so it’s impossible to say if it’s bad or not

Not only do this, pass the ball between your 2 defenders since that’s the only way to level them up.

The true centrist opinion is that all mainline entries are valid and good, just some are arguably better than others.
Trying hard to get into it this run through but I’m waiting until end game. Hate that the forced blitzball fight early in the game is practically unwinnable, and despite Tidus scoring 3 goals, one of which with the incredible Jecht Shot somehow he got booed off.
I swear if Lulu is one of them it’s going to come to fisticuffs between us.

I honestly can’t believe I didn’t think of that. I was genuinely trying really hard to defend the normal way and just couldn’t hold the ball.
Lost 4-3 in the end and have never been so devastated.
My favourite Blitzball team line-up is;
Tidus and Vilucha as scorers
Lina in the middle
Auda Guardo and Naida as defenders
Nimrook as the goalie.
(does mean having to wait for both Auda and Nimrook’s contracts to be up)

Lulu was fine? I liked her. I liked uh, Lulu, Kimahri, Wakka ( oddly enough I thought I’d hate him ) and… uh what’s the drunk swordsman? His name escapes me right now.
But yeah 10’s story just didn’t grab me and there’s a lot of other stuff in it that I found really bad, like the sphere grid. Bloody confusing and diluted character roles too much I feel, once you reach the point you can have characters use other characters sphere grids.
Which made poor Kimahri even more worse off.

Though, after the crap he’s been through? Wouldn’t have surprised me if the man was driven to drink.
