I play a cutscene rendered by an external studio that is so full of grand visuals and smothering orchestral scores that you forget everything about that one trick and all you can think of is how awesome that cinematic you watched was.
the only spirit in this riddle will be one of the guards after it leaves their body

I donāt quite remember when but Iām fairly certain they made skippable and pausable cutscenes a standard in FF as ofā¦12? It mightāve been 13, but I do think 10 was the last mainline (single player) FF where they werenāt skippable.
X-2 had skippable cutscenes iirc however they baited you by making it so your completion % might be nerfed if you skip a cutscene, so if you want that perfect ending you HAVE to watch everything. Completionists really do have to completionist.

MGS4ās final cinematic sequence is ~75 minutes long iirc? Got a save point mid cinematic in case you need to come back later. Very thoughtful.

to this day i still canāt remember most of mgs4, except that i spent an extraordinary amount of time just sitting and watching kojimaās latest acid trip without having to touch my controller
