I thought ARR was perfectly fine. I wasn’t really being blown away yet, but by no means did it feel like a slog.

peeve: King of the Desert 4 is in its semi-finals and the main stream is experiencing network problems, which you can’t really prepare for and it’s rly sad because AoE2 needs the tournament to continue to be successful, hoping all the hiccups will happen today and not tomorrow during grand finals!!!

they join up with Cornellia and everyone is suddenly like “yeah lets work for Lelouch again sounds good to me bro no complaints here!” Like come onnnnnn. I can buy it for Sayoko, Kallen and Lloyd no problem for personal reasons, and Suzaku calming down after an explanation is fine too. But everyone? Pfffffffff. Shenanigans.
Lelouch living was one of my headcanons to begin with, and him being ‘broken’ afterwards was fine too, but I was quite happy for him+C.C. retiring to the countryside and living their best lives.
Thematically the series does work better if he dies at the end, no doubt about that though.

I was also disappointed with it greatly, even though I should have known better. It was just an entirely unnecessary movie that adds nothing to the story and only takes away by having a blatant happy ending. My Lelouch sacrificed himself at the end of the series.
