Pet peeves: The return (Part 2)

Like many anglos I cut my teeth with Wing and then SEED. My initial connection to UC came, amusingly via the Dynasty Warriors Gundam games (which are GOOD, HONEST) but I’ve dipped more and more into it over time. 08th MS Team is a great standalone UC story, generally well recommended for a reason, and I really liked Unicorn.

Really liked IBO and definitely wouldn’t object to another physical gundam like Barbatos as the primary mech.

is the Deathscythe in it

that’s my favourite

(this is my judge of every Gundam series)

They’re in Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3, but not #1 or #2.

Also there’s at least one Deathyscythe variant in the Build Fighters series, I think? I never watched them because it wasn’t my thing.

is the best and

are both irredemable garbage, the worst, 3/10

thank you this has been my highly scientific review process

I don’t much care for difficulty in souls games and I dislike how much focus that particular aspect of the series got. Those games are so much more than just a thing for hardcur gamurz to weirdly flex online.

That said, I noticed that the moment I stopped treating sekiro as a souls game, I started doing much better. Sure it has familiar elements (ie bonfires, currency loss, etc), but the moment to moment gameplay is very different and had it not been made by FROM, I reckon most people wouldn’t even call it souls inspired. It’s more a rhythm fighting game than soulslike. The human boss fights did feel like real duels and I don’t think I let out a sigh of relief after beating a boss in other games as many times as I did in sekiro.

Either way, sekiro was clearly just an experiment, to see what would happen if they left the formula and what mechanics the playerbase might enjoy. Hence jumping and counterattacks.

Happy 5th year anniversary to the time the trailer for the Mummy starring Tom Cruise was uploaded to youtube without the proper sound effects

The new XIV raid’s gear is pretty! Almost wish I was a tank now.

Talk about a difficulty curve too. No deaths on first boss, one on second and third, and five on the last. Took me until the end to really figure it out!

I’m 3 ilvls away from accessing the raid. I think I was cursed near EW launch, because no matter what job I run dungeons with, the gear for my job just doesn’t drop. At all. I was only scraping by with the guaranteed rewards at the end of the run.

I know I can just buy tomestones gear, but I’d rather spend them on set and not the accessories. I’m tired of running expert roulette.

I luckily was just one expert roulette away from going into the raid straight away - I had enough tomestones saved up to fill my accessory slots, and I had already bought the chest earlier because I thought it might have uses in future sets.

I do know what you mean, it took a long time for me to get the casting gear from the expert dungeons.

Welcome to my life!

Played RDM up until EW launch, only got maiming gear.

Swapped to RPR at EW launch, now only get casting gear.

The game mocks me.

EDIT: Jokes on it though, RDM is the current class i’m levelling to 90 on Leo so he can use the gear anyway.

I always get maiming gear so my DRG at lower lvls is set for max, I had to rely on tomestones and a lucky drop to gear my BRD up.

Clearly the game is just telling me to main floortank.

I asked myself if I would be doing the raids on my bunnyboy too, then realised that I was kidding myself and of course I will.

Later this week, though.

And what a spectacular failure it was. Truly one for the ages. The best part is that they could have pulled off a mostly silent trailer for stylistic tension but then as it rolls on you realise the mistake as stock sound effects, looping screams and all that plays way too loudly to be intentional.

A very nice example of the ongoing slow death of cinema.

All this fog makes my town look like a Silent Hill game location.

Ah. Very good, that sounds very-

:ok_hand:

I honestly just picked up the most common ones that crop up- And in me saying that they are common, as the responses have also shown- They most certainly seem to be.

I don’t think most people are bad, the gloves just come off very easily when online, behind the wheel, or a myriad of other situations.

:ok_hand: how :ok_hand: is :ok_hand: that :ok_hand: a :ok_hand: problem :ok_hand: doe :ok_hand: lol :ok_hand:

good thing that the guy asked why’d the guy who said that thought that way, now we know why

Got stuck in Castrum again, She-Ra comes along and really wants a butt scratch.

Eh, its Castrum, if I get kicked because my dog needs a butt scratch then so be it.

I’ve never seen a Castrum slow down enough that an afker could get kicked tbh* so long as they hit a button to stay ‘active’ every now and again. Too busy chaining trash+boss pulls.

Would be different if the whole group was lazing mind you.

*exception when some idiot charming person who doesn’t know better body pulls the half-dozen iron giants instead of slamming the searchlights so we wipe

Didn’t he actively whine about blizzard injecting real world politics in the game?

recently I have seen kicks happen for AFKing.

And a lot of snark about how they’re going to kick AFK people.

Don’t even, I loved the lack of beams in IBO. And Barbie has been sapping my money in terms of gunpla models ever since I finished season 2.

There was something very satisfying with how Sunrise did the melee fights.
