Like I said, for me it’s personally self defeating for obvious reasons but it’s not something I’m going to get upset about, I like the way FFXIV handles sexuality. No, people were annoyed on reddit because they went out of their to sanitize the game in an over step. I think the most upvoted comment at the time was that because they didn’t have an understanding of where the line was they tried to self correct but in such a way that it seemed over the top.

Personally, I don’t feel objectified by Blizzard for changing out a random prop. I doubt people are crying themselves to sleep over it’s change/removal.
I have however felt bothered sometimes by how gaming(blizzard included) has treated femininity as eye-candy/sexualised for decades. That Blizzard is stepping away from that in design is ultimately a good thing.
And again, if some of the devs or players also felt bothered specifically by the paintings, then it’s only good that they changed them.
