Pet peeves: The return (Part 3)

It’s crazy how insanely invested I got into those two. Probably helped that those two actors, especially Iain De Caestecker, are absolutely top tier.

I got as far as when they go into space and decided the shark had been too jumped for even my tastes

As punishment for my earlier positive comments towards capitalistic greed and the remaster and rerelease of games that aren’t really old at all, my PC’s power supply has decided it no longer has sufficient power to run any games at all.

I wish I could say it’s a peeve, but I don’t have the funds to do anything about it.

My lesson is learned – don’t praise PlayStation Studios.

So our RP circle made a series of what-if screenshots about how our WoW characters would look if isekai’d into FFXIV.

Been playing some Guild Wars 2 again the last few weeks. Made a new character because I wanted to give mesmer a proper try and while leveling saw there was RP in Queensdale (a village just outside of the human capital), then in the capital itself I bumped into more RP, but didn’t stay for either because I was in a bit of a rush.
Nice to see it is still alive, even if the quality can be hit or miss, or so I’ve heard.

it can be extremely hit and miss alas but nice to see it’s still alive at least, last I saw it was damn near dead.

I haven’t seen any RP at all when I came back to the game the first time a few months ago either, hence why I was so surprised.

To elaborate, in Queensdale I saw 2 humans walking into an inn, 2 more in the middle of the town talking and across the road from aforementioned inn there were 3 Goldshire tier lolers (the outside of the inn kind, not coomers).

Completely forgot that on the same evening I’ve also seen a group of 5-6 RPers in the forest near a Lumbermill there having some kind of RP going. Didn’t stick around cuz didn’t want to ogle at them like OOCers tend to do.

you’ll want to go into the salma district out of bounds to find those…

i rped on there for a good few years so its sad to see my old haunts like rata sum and the grove so dead but its encouraging theres some life still around. queensdale really do be the elwynn forest of tyria. just…without all the coom

The coom is likely there too, but I haven’t ran into any and I haven’t been hit on either, despite wearing a pretty skanky outfit (thanks starting gear). But yeah, good to see it’s still alive, might carefully observe just to see what people are getting up to next time I run into any.

Up to 80/450+ chivos complete in Three Hopes.

Game doesn’t come out for another 12 days. I just unlocked a class up seal that I am unable to use because the advanced classes aren’t in the demo.

The Warriors games really do just tickle the right part of my brain.

I’ve been playing Guild Wars 2 pretty actively for the past few months. I’ve even gotten a little involved with the roleplaying community, so it’s amusing how there are some character archetypes which seem almost copy-and-pasted from Argent Dawn.

Namely, bitter Ascalonian descendants with an undying hatred of the Charr who hang around Rurikton all day, exhibiting hostility towards any passing Charr, speakin’ wit’ th’ mos’ annoyin’ accents tha’ y’can think o’, and pining for the day when they get to reclaim their ancestral homeland.

Often played by the same players, so that could explain it. And then there are just universally popular archetypes that inevitably pop up both in the setting and in the rp.

If Blizzard was writing Shadowbringers

Glimmerdust, as Thancred: “You really think I’ve been running, general? I lured you into open desert. Because out here, you have no hope of interfering with the Warrior of Light! Muwahahahahaha!”
Lady Moonberry: “Glimmerdust, Thancred didn’t kill Ran’jit.”
Glimmerdust: “Oh, come on! Really?!”
Lady Moonberry: “Really. Thancred didn’t die, either.”
Glimmerdust: “Ugh… fine.”

Still think it’s funny how you can copy paste forsaken RP guilds onto any given RP server in WoW and no one would notice (aside from some language issues)
This working between different games as well isn’t too surprising. Kept running into people I knew whenever I looked at RP servers in different games too…

If you weren’t so far away I would have let you have a ps4 and the game for a bit. So really it’s own your fault.

I met so many charr talking like that too when I played.
Excluding pirates, they as a race are shown to be incredibly intelligent and well spoken… but you get the ones who drop letters faster than a cockney.

Which is funny given the only people who talk like that are from lions arch. Ascalonians were and still are a fairly cultured people. As an asura even one from lions arch its just more justification to ridicule their speech impediment

Speaking of justification they have even less with the charr hating and pining to reclaim. Ebonhawke, the last ascalonian city, entered full diplomatic talks with the legions after they saved the city from destroyers. That kind of mentality now is harbored by terrorists but yknow that would impede their fountain brooding

Nobody has suffered like I have suffered

That moment when you decide to go walking with a mate, thinking you’ll go 20 km , but he takes a wrong turn and you send up walking -26- km instead ( the furthest I’d done before that was 14). Took me 5,5 hours and at the end I was -dead- and gained some blisters… but hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up eventually, considering I got myself signed up for a walking marathon in October.

I’ve left the rats alone in the hall with all the doors closed while I wash up.
I can hear them running and jumping on things.
Fortunately, there’s nothing out there other than the stairs, the dogs bed and water and some Cheerios.
