Pet peeves: The return (Part 3)

IDK how helpful it is but on lesser burial watchdogs, fextra says;

Notably weak to Crystal Dart consumable - few darts makes them hostile towards all enemies in their vicinity.

Aye, the problem with the ones in the Giant’s Catacombs is there are no other enemies around.
Just big, floaty death-catsdogs that can, somehow, follow you down a lift, do their drop attacks while fitting under tiny arches, and have masses of HP :grimacing:
They also added a Frost variant because, y’know, More Pain, right?!

oh, ew.

Gonna be my tried and tested tactic of running past then quitting out.

As someone very invested in historical fashion, you have no idea how much I relate to this. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen two people hold an interesting discussion only for someone to be like ā€œUHHH YEAH THEY DIDN’T DRESS LIKE THAT IN [WILDLY INACCURATE SHOW] CHECKMATE!ā€

I know what my older brothers reply would/will be;

ā€œStar Laser go pewpewpew.ā€
He has never deviated from his tried and true method of ā€˜Magic first, apply liberally and with extreme prejudice’ and, y’know, I can’t really blame him when it works so darn well :sweat_smile:

I think at your level should max it out, if you found a weapon you are fond of.
What’s the rest of your stat spread?

Yeah they have naturally high defenses, so small wonder you’re not doing much to them, it’s not a you problem, as even the fire/frost spraying pillars don’t damage them all that much. Their moveset is pretty wonky too (I feel like the hurtbox of the sword thrust lingers just long enough to hurt you when it shouldn’t). Just have to deal with them or, you know, run past.

Made my 2nd playthrough extremely comical. I’m genuinely sorry for anyone who goes through the game the first time by blowing everything away with a 2006 meme.

I mean, I normally do some magic/melee hybrid so I CAN do that.

But in ER that’s a waste of mana and I need all my mana to summon Lautrel for the boss.

Need to rebuild a modlist for FO4 after not playing for over a year… Time to break Bethesda’s engine again.

Apparently there’s a completed conversion of FO3’s Point Lookout DLC that came out a couple of months ago, you should check it out and then tell me if it’s good.

Yeah, it’s called Far Harbor.

Memes aside Far Harbor was okay. Would have been a lot better without those awful memory puzzles.

Something like 50 Vigor, 20 Mind, 26 End, 22 Str, 18 Dex, 40 Faith and just base Int and Arcane (9+7?)

I’m using the Gargoyle Sword with either flame art or holy on it (usually Flamestrike), have the Brass shield although I’m looking to upgrade to the Golden (great)shield and I can’t remember what level the Two Fingers charm is at.

The sword is definitely at 20, and I’m short on SmithStone (7)s for upgrading it more. A big gripe with ER is how clunky the upgrade stuff is compared to, like, a pretty near perfect system from Dark Souls 1? Shard, Large Shards, Chunks and Slab was a good way of doing it, imo.

On it General! While I check out the Point there is a settlement that needs your help… Here, I’ll mark it on your map.

swap to Erdtree Seal maybe? Best late game faith only seal.

No, like, a mod.

Also apparently one for the Zetan abduction DLC that’ll be fun to try out.

It was a joke about how you take a boat from the mainland into a creepy and foggy island where there’s something possibly vaguely supernatural about it!

Laugh now. This is not a request.

Flame infusion gives you heavy faith scaling, so I’d say 40 is a bit low. You can take it all the way up to 50, if not 60 and still get good benefit. If you’re good at dodging, you could swap 5 points out of vig and even End or str (as long as you cans till use your weapon) . Alternatively put any new points you acquire from now on into faith.

Is not that good, better go for whichever one boosts your spell school of choice. Erdtree, like Cro said, is also a decent choice, though afaik it gives the best benefits past 70 faith.

Also consider using canvas talismans. They stack and make your spells much stronger.

Well that’s kind of what I’d do anyway.

Far Harbor had some very cathartic moments that felt strangely out of place in Fallout 4’s otherwise kinda dull plotlines (but like in a good way).

Spoilers Like when you find out that DiMA, portrayed initially as a very caring and generous soul, is just as irredeemably manipulative as the Institute he vilifies so you can get the townsfolk to beat him to death.

speaking of scaling-- what level in dex should I have before putting… whatever the dex scaling upgrade is on a weapon?
