It’s super frustrating how many cool armour sets and weapons have garbage stats or nothing like the versatility of the NPC versions. For the utter monster Briar Knight is, his armour, shield and sword all feel massively lacklustre? Same with Bloodhound Knight armour
Yet you get god stats on something, and it looks like Bullgoats set; hideous. Where’s my Havel set darnit?!
Fellas I don’t think I’m going to make it to the end of Inquisition. I got to Skyhold and there’s just so much stuff. I’m not high enough level to carry on with the main story and there’s so many zones and side quests and noise that it’s just overwhelming.
Oh NOW I remember. It’s your fault I’ve been watching Dragon Age lore videos on youtube for the last couple days. (And companion banter compilations)
I’m afraid you’ll have to go finish DA:I now. Because this is way too early to be doing this without at release date for DA:D () in sight and honestly it’s rather rude.
(I think Fallow Mire was a pretty short and self contained area if you haven’t done that yet?)
Following up on Elenthas advice, one thing you 100% dont need to do in any zone is the thing with the skulls to collect shards. The ultimate reward for it is you get a new zone/demon dungeon where each boss gives you some resistance buffs and like + to each stat.
But doing them basically doubles the length of the game.
Fallow mire+Crestwood should get you enough level to continue the main story.
Fret not, I will re-post my big list but with some updated pointers!
Hinterlands(Level 4+)-Only do the quests just around the crossroads/until you get enough power to do the main story. Then do the main story up until “In your Heart Shall Burn”.
After that:
The Fallow Mire(Optional, very short zone. Level 8+)
First half of the storm coast(Level 5+)
The rest of the hinterlands(Optional, but good to get mounts, also optional though)
Crestwood(Level 10+)
Western Approach(Level 10+)
Exalted Plains(Optional, Level 10+)
Emerald Graves(Optional aside from companion quest, Level 12+)
The other half of the Storm Coast(Optional, Level 12+)
Emprise du Lion(Optional, Level 16+)
Hissing Wastes(Optional, Level 16+)
Forgotten Oasis(Optional Level 8+, only if you decide to 100% all shards. Otherwise it is completely pointless to go there.)
The Descent can be slotted in at any time around lvl 16. Jaws of Hakkon after the main story, or after Hissing Wastes. All DLC are also optional with the exception of Trespasser which is the final DLC/after base game.
The only zone you actually need a mount in is Hissing Wastes since it’s one of the biggest maps in the game. Otherwise its just niche/fluff. And not mandatory to the story.
