Id love to play TW:WH3 again but I needed a break from it… also hoping to soon have a PC that can properly run it.
Well IE is out in two weeks, so it’ll be a good time to play again!
I just have a mod that adds missing factions.
x1 Tomb King, x1 Vamp Coast, x1 High elf, x1 Brettonian and x1 Dark elf.
It’s helped me learn what I can recruit from each faction when the time comes and who’ll be useful.
The Brettonians only really offer their peasants (melee), higher tier cav and blessed field trebs from allied recruitment.
High elves offer most of their units, but not rangers. Having high elven dragons on Cathay feels powerful.
Hmmm, quite a dry year for gaming. Don’t have much to look forward to as Stray’s been released and I don’t expect Sony to dump the next GoW on PC any time soon, same for Ghost of Tsushima.
valkia is here valkia valkia valkia valkia valkia valkia valkia
Where is Khalida hiding the skulls?!

When you check Lion’s Rest and 21 out of 25 people are RPing as some variety of Elf, half or otherwise.
People do really want to be ‘unique’ and not RP as a standard human.
They were added well in a mod I use, properly incoperated.
But they’re not slayers.
Im looking forward to Frostpunk 2 and Gord when it comes to gaming.
Another stray FF14 analysis thought
I do find it genuinely interesting how the game's story (less so perhaps its producers and marketing content) focuses on the importance of the player avatar's welfare. Your allies insist on you making the most of your time (indirectly or as in the screenshot below very directly) while one of the most heinously evil and unredeemable villains of the 21st century emphasises something more akin to WoW's current design and how it feeds off its players chasing some elusive promise of Epic Gaming Moments that they will never be able to deliver and ultimately is incredibly self destructive. There's quite a few sly dunks towards that type of short-sighted design in the dialogue throughout the later expansions, usually hammering in the point that the journey is its own (but not only) reward and it's precious because its finite.Waiting for IE because I need Ungrim back as playable.
I like my pervy dork elves and make no apologies for darkshard spamming.
Beats a Grom player spamming insane goblins that destroy everything.
Master chef Grom overcoming Tor Yvresse’s wards with sheer obesity and conquering the known world with archer stacks that ate spicy gumbo is funny.
Looking forward to the obese playthrough;
Greasus, Grom and Cylostra coop

On one hand, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to roleplay something other than a standard human.
on the other hand i suspect that the majority of these elves are high elves and screw high elves in particular
if elves are ice cream high elves aren’t even vanilla-flavoured they’re just a bland emulsion of water sugar and milk
i remember plenty of people insisting that they were fascinated by high elf culture in the warcraft setting and i couldn’t help but wonder ‘what culture’
they’re so bland and one-note that the only things of interest about them are that they were the foundation for the much more interesting blood elves and are descended from the much more interesting night elves
so yes if my suspicions are correct and the majority of those elves are high elves being played as little more than prettier humans then boo hiss and all that
reputation with starshade -100
(No disagreement that many people who play high elves don’t get involved in the cool story they have, though)
