The first above is fine IMO, the second one is cursed, I’d rather play the N64 version still.
I personally hate the pug dragon, but it’s not the most egregious redesign. The Crash one was pretty cringe too, although I think the worst aspect of that reboot wasn’t even the cringeworthy attempt to have him look edgy. It’s the fact it’s the absolute WORST of 2000s humor. It’s an entire game of DAE REFERENCES FUNNEE? HOLDS UP SPORK. WAAAFFLES!
The worst of 2022 humor I’ve seen is the Forspoken trailer. When I’m president overly quippy dialogue will be illegal.

I was rather excited for that game until we heard the dialogue samples and such, the game is a graphical marvel and a sight to behold, but everything else about it just seeems so… yikes?

I actually got the tony hawk game, its neat and not that expensive… wish bobby didn’t ruined the studio causing THPS 3+4 to be cancelled.

Forspoken is what happens when you make a tech demo and it looks cool, but then you have to turn it into a game and have no idea.
I really hope the dialogue and story aren’t really that bad but I’m pretty sure they will be.

2022 is a desert regarding games. You might stumble upon a couple of Oases but damn, I got very little to look forward to.

I review weird self published stuff from Kindle as a hobby. I generally see this kind of writing from Gen Xers.
The worst instance I’ve ever read had an obvious self insert save a family who washed up on the shore of some magical island. There was room for tension and potential as a bandit approached them. He was called Bascuin or something.
He’s about to stab them and then some absolute Marvel character hops out of nowhere and goes “WHOA BISCUIT. WATCHA DOING?”
“GOLLY GOSH GEE PROTAG-KUN, DON’T CALL ME BISCUIT…”
“LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE COOKED BISCUIT…” Protag-kun kills bad guy epically…
The fact it was written by someone who’s like 30-40 years older than me was astounding.

It does seem like there’s not much left to look forward to now that Elden Ring and Stray have come out.
