Legit when I started my trial I gravitated to Au Ra (Xaela to be specific)
Au Ra caught my attention of the free available races during the trial, so a very dark Xaela I was until I finished ShB and used my free fanta to go Elezen

Using console commands I’ve set up my final pre IE campaign.
I’ve made all of order (including wood elves) into allies, confederated everyone for Karl (leveled up Elspeth, she needs her dragon), Mannfred and Luthor Harkon are beasties, made all of Chaos into allies and the same for ogres/orcs. (skaven and tomb Kings are free agents).
Excluding a few buffer factions which are going down, it should lead into a big series of fights.
I’ve also leveled up enemy lords and armies to make sure they aren’t butt.
The current state of affairs.
Also, did you know that without a mod, only a limited number of factions will want to trade? That’s dumb.
