Overwatch 2’s release date is close. Where’s the hype, Blizzard?

they keep killing it by accident with their ridiculous business practices

Everything is in place already; a stable fanbase that’ll buy it on day 1 and/or preorder for a quick quarterly cash injection, new features to keep them playing with stable engagement metrics as they unlock characters and a marketable array of existing characters to work toward those sweet customizations.

We know these games are built around the premise that a new devoted whales pour their life savings into it to make it profitable.

Do you come back as violent as the rest of his subjects or are you a late-stage subject with his soul extractor?

Did he put a rat soul in you because clearly they’re interchangeable /s

As soon as they get their WC3 20th anniversary post out they’ll be hyping up Overwatch 2.

I’m relatively docile.

Well, it’s sort of a quantity over quality deal with rat souls. It’s a mess in there right now.

Also the key part of Overwatch 2 that people actually wanted, the story campaigns, aren’t coming at launch.

But the new hero Kiriko is unlocked for free!

At tier 55 on the sixth page of the battle pass.

Kiriko looks like the word JAPAN got fed into Wikipedia and then run through the Diversity Spectrum they have

Planned phasing out of a property in action. Cash in, submit quarterly report, shift game to maintenace mode after three more months when the novelty of Mercy’s cute new outfit has worn off.

Ain’t nobody got time for that. They’re banking on impatient, ADD-riddled gamers spitting up their ramen money for a new waifu.

instead of kiriko they should have added f!diablo

still keep the kitsune powers though

Putting the Prime Evil in the flagrant effort of whale-hunting that is the battle pass is a bit too on the nose even for blizzard

Although It happened last month I’ve just learned that NetEase have bought out Quantic Dream. So there’s another western studio who’s games will be nothing more than a vehicle for gatcha gambling mechanics…

Help me. I’m re-reading Order of the Stick, and now I’m making a Wisdom save against sneaking an “I prepared Explosive Runes this morning” joke into WoW RP.

All posting about that in this thread is doing is giving you a disadvantage on that roll.

Possible gamer hot take: More games should implement a skip puzzle option.

Not just because I don’t want to do a puzzle because I’m a big dummy (this is the case sometimes, hello Enigma von WotR), but sometimes I’ve figured out the solution to a puzzle but executing it through the gameplay is like 5 minutes of moving about pushing boxes and flipping switches and running back and forth and like…

I already know the solution, this is just busywork at this point. My genius brain (not to be mistaken for my dummy brain when I don’t get the solution) has comprehended. We can move along.

But then what would my new role be when watching one of my cousins plays some game with the occasional puzzle?

At the very least, have the option in CRPG style games to let me do a check to figure out the puzzle. I may be a dummy dumb dumb but my character might allegedly be smart

no she’s just :tipping_hand_woman:

if she likes hades (and other disney villains) next we’ll know for sure
