Everything about the night elves’ choice of weapons makes sense when you remember they are primarily ambush forest fighters - guns require industry to manufacture and maintain both them and their ammo (as well as being loud and relatively slow), and cannons are worthless in dense forest

would be like asking ‘lmao, why don’t dracthyr use guns or vehicles’ - because they breathe fire and can fly

Ohh goddd im cooofing auurgh

Today I have seen way more half naked male belves than I think I have ever wanted to see.

Only a couple were actually players too.

They should bond with the death knights as specifically engineered living (kinda) weapons.

I do headcanon that dracthyr and demon hunters find out that they have a surprising amount in common and are very unlikely friends

The death knight/demon hunter bond over mutual sacrifice for a greater good ad being shunned turned sour as they fought over who gave up the most but then the dracthyr came along as the new bubbly, if naive friend to mend the rift, take the surly introverts outside to meet people and now the three happily go killing monsters as needed. A healthy roomie dynamic.

This is the reason why Lintian kept using a bow for hunting even after being introduced to guns.

  1. She’s not physically imposing and has to rely on stealth and guile when hunting. Guns are loud, and a single shot will scare away all game in vicinity.
  2. Bullets can’t be reused, and night elves don’t manufacture them, so even if she had a gun, it would soon run out of ammo that she can’t replace.
  3. Guns are finicky mechanisms prone to breaking down and are tricky to repair in the field even if you know how to do it.
  4. The primary advantages of guns are ease of learning and not requiring muscle power, neither of which is an appealing argument to someone with centuries of archery practice.

guns are noisy and i don’t like it

you don’t get the satisfying thwip sound of loosing an arrow, you just get ruptured ear drums

used to get that with guns between vanilla and wrath.

Remember having to drop an upgrade because the noise hurt to listen to.

warlords of draenor change was huge for guns yeah

Periodic reminder that DH should also get to Soar on their demon wings like dracthyr do.

(Also every other class should get to dynamic flying with special weirdness too)

Wouldn’t know, I have had either a bow or an x-bow mogged ever since.

EDIT: Okay, not actually true, I have quite a few characters who are using guns.

I was originally resistant to giving DHs flying because regular flight would look incredibly goofy on them, but Soar works well for them

ok but having a silenced pistol actually made my cyberpunk run so much easier

idk why i didn’t think of this before

My first (pre-2.0) playthrough I discovered stealth takedowns and the game became leagues easier

how much health do you have? wait never mind don’t tell me I don’t care one-hit kill
