Pet peeves: The return (Part 5)

You just need to adhere to the Death Knight Code:
If they’re red, they’re dead.
If they’re yellow, don’t let them mellow.
If they’re green, don’t be mean.
I am still colour blind.

Also, GOD, why is the swamp area in Ohn’haran so damn LOUD?!

how about you mind your own business

Going into LFR on a Tuesday night always is an adventure

Unity (the game engine) has made a very stupid decision/change in which each install of a game will incur a fee to the developers to pay to Unity.

Yes, install, meaning that hypothetically if you were very bored and malicious could could repeatedly install a game to penalise a developer you didn’t like.

Or, if you’re not malicious, simply reinstalling a game to replay it after some years would then penalise them, despite that being the opposite of what you wanted.

Also, coincidentally, the CEO of Unity recently sold a bunch of shares shortly before they made this announcement.

This is somehow not illegal.

A write up here.

Edit: Realising that the CEO is John Ricitello, aka the former EA CEO who once suggested that people playing Battlefield should have to pay real money to reload their guns.

This looks like it’s targeting the mobile market. Seems like they’re also hoping to sell more subscriptions tjis way because without one it would be more expensive for stuff like free to play.

Also, how are they planning to implement tracking for this that’s compliant with data protection laws?

Pet peeve: Untagged Baldur’s Gate 3 spoilers in this thread.

the new eredar quest is fine, its serviceable

Oh apparently they’ve got a magic tech that does it but they won’t go into detail.

I’d also note that while Unity is often associated with indie devs and smaller companies, that’s not always the case - Genshin Impact, Hearthstone, and some of the Pokémon games on the Switch use Unity.

Can’t imagine this is going to go over well with their lawyers, since apparently it also applies retroactively.

He’s always been screaming at WoW stuff because it was bad in his opinion.

Which, fair enough, but I remember it being MoP stuff? Which was like, one of the golden expacs for WoW, so lol+lmao. (Might’ve been Cataclysm, but I’m starting to blend together him, Totalbiscuit, and Preach in a way.)

Not surprised he’s become like this, tbh.

If having to pick your pronouns has you reacting like that and ruins your immersion to that level… oof

Those quickest to scream ‘snowflake’ are always actually the most fragile.

Throw a rainbow at them, watch them shriek.
