Coordination, preemptive scoring and effectively rigging the process? In my eurovision? This whole event being used as a political statement?
Heavens to betsy, I’ve never heard of such a thing!

There used to atleast be some pretending about it. The most blatant showcase used to be that all the neighbouring countries voted for eachother.
Invites Israel
Netherlands disqualified for “threatening movement” (lol?)
Meanwhile, Israel still qualifying
Israeli team is posting threats to other singers in Hebrew
Huh??
Have to be honest bros I feel like a threatening movement is a lot more minor than calls for violence in hebrew !!!
While not directly related to the EBU, in addition you also have:
Yesterday and today there have been large protests in Malmö(the city its taking place) to support Palestine and to boycot Israel’s participation. The protests are strictly non-violent and have been peaceful.
Israeli state media have instead been using footage from unrelated protests and riots from 2006 and 2007, claiming it is unacceptable and violent.
To go back this too, Netherland’s team have repeatedly asked to remedy the situation. EBU and the cameraperson involved have refused anything kind mediation beyond the DQ.
is, incidentally, also consistently harassing other teams with cameras backstage!
hmm!!
Yeah she’s just plainly refusing to talk about it lol
Weird that whenever Israel gets invited to anything they develop major Main Character Syndrome and just start calling for killings in hebrew within 24 hours. This trend needs to be studied because I need to know what kinda Star Wars Clone Chips they seem to put into the Israeli media team’s heads whenever they go anywhere.
Käärijä has resigned as spokesperson as well for tonight for Finland, citing that it doesn’t feel right.
I don’t know nor care what the danish commentators are saying about Eurovision, but I will just say it’s very telling when our local far right party outwardly spoke in support for Israel and that speaks volumes.
It’s just a big joke at this point.
I’d love to see many countries withdrawing participation to send a signal to the EBU but, who am I kidding, ofcourse they won’t…
As for the situation that is giving rise to these protests… aswell as other crappy situations in the world… I am going to sound very generalizing but, notice how most of the current problems in the world are being caused by old people who refuse to get with the times? They’re atleast 60 if not older.
The EBU has apparently banned not only the Dutch flag, but also the actual EU flag from Eurovision lmao
Damn, got the source on that one?

Dutch flags being seized is on the NOS, Dorin had an EU flag with him
Truly a year in Eurovision history to be remembered.
I can’t wait for the documentary
So the lady who is currently President of the EBU was also CEO of Orange France ( the French telecom company) from 2011 to 2015. During her tenure twelve employees committed suicide due to the stressful work culture.
Charming lady.
Source: her wikipedia page.
Damn. Those poor workers.
They filtered the booing and ‘Europapa’ chanting out
Spineless cowards.
It’s just so deeply disappointing because I do genuinely really like several entries this year.
You can really see how staying out of politics has allowed everyone to focus on the event at hand
