Pet peeves: The return (Part 8)

Oh, but they just care about the children! That’s what they always say, right? The children who must be protected by… uh… -checks notes-

Into the Sea with all people like that.

People like that have zero business being teachers or in any child caring position at all.

For what its worth, my “true” and “biological” name is Binx.

It may have taken me 30 years to get there. But I got there and you ain’t taking it away from me.

Nope, refused.

Horrible person flat out.

Its compelled speech apparently.

I will just never understand how someone can be so absolutely self-centered and just needlessly cruel to others.

Like, if you strip it down to its complete and most simplistic basics it’s:

Person A: “Hey, my name is X”

Person B: “NO! I refuse. I will instead call you Y”

Person A: “Please don’t. I actually find it very uncomfortable. I’d like you to call me X.”

Person B: " Y Y Y Y Y Y! I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!"

And to also do that to children and teenagers is just beyond cruel. No person who was ever good or kind would ever do such a thing.

This all swings back to; if you go to somebody’s house and start petting their cat and then say; “pretty cat, what’s her name?”

Then the person says; “oh he’s a boy and his name is X”

You don’t fly into a rage and go, “no she’s a girl, she’s a girl” etc. so why we doing it with people?

Same people who “couldn’t pronounce” the name of a classmate of mine back in the day. Because it was a Turkish name. With exactly 0 sounds a German speaker doesn’t already know.

Guy called her a random old fashioned German name he decided on. Sadly ruralish middle schools back then didn’t really have a way to complain about it, especially since we were too young for most of the adults to care.

From Britannica -

taxonomy, in a broad sense the science of classification, but more strictly the classification of living and extinct organisms—i.e., biological classification. The term is derived from the Greek taxis (“arrangement”) and nomos (“law”).

Which is really weird if you’re applying this to human beings.

Really what needs to happen is if someone is intent on calling someone by a name the person in question does not want to be known as the same laws surrounding defamation should be applied.

We shouldn’t, but some people are just horrendous to others for no reason.

Identity should always be respected.

Addressing the class with “pay attention please, [word banned by the forums lmao] sapiens” seems very reasonable!

Was it a “Ho ho hurr hurr…” or an “ohohoho.~”

I imagine if you addressed the class as this you would have some ignorant parents thinking a slur is being used on their children.

The latter and now I can’t sit right.

I had a teacher in 4th grade who called our parallel/sibling class “donkeys” after they riled her up during a math lesson.

She got suspended and later quit before the suspension was over.

Man, I am reminded that one of the classes in my year group locked the new crazy math teacher in her own closet.

Guess we ARE all H [word banned by the forums lmao] then!
