Pet peeves: The return (Part 8)

Haven’t heard the cat, back the chair up slowly so I don’t hurt him because he’s probably under my feet.

He’s not here anymore.

The first couple weeks when you still expect them to be just there because they always were are the worst. Be gentle with yourself.

Finished the Urqopacha and Kozama’uka questlines in Dawntrail.

The expansion continues to be awesome and pretty much my dream expansion. Urqopacha is a fun Barter 101 and Kozama’uka reminds me of classic BioWare stories.

Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Your coming up on what was to me some of my favourite parts of the mid-expansion so hope you enjoy them!

can someone explain why mogu and ethereals and high arakkoa would have any particular affiliation for the alliance

Mogu and arrakoa do love their imperious fortresses and self-righteousness

(ethereals and void elves are bros, and high arrakoa are big light-heads. I can see it)

Isn’t every one of those void ethereals hostile except for locus walker specifically?

What’s a little forcefully-turning-you-into-void-ethereals among old friends

Locus-Walker isn’t alone, one called Shadreen is at least allowed into the Rift and is doing some Probably Perfectly Innocent Spying On Us. The old TBC consortium would probably find kindred spirits in the void elves

… why would Mogu not be Horde?

You could make an argument for all the races in that picture except the arakkoa, who wouldn’t fit any side and barely their own.

The Consortium aren’t void ethereals (that’s the similarly named and eminently hostile Ethereum). Consortium are normie ethereals who don’t like the Void (because Dimensius ate their planet).

What’s that from? Fan made or…?

Yeah I saw someone on twitter wistfully say it’d be nice to see one day.

If I had to hammer out some lore for it, I’d lean on the Alliance having more previously-Keeper-forged races (Gnomes, Dwarves etc) and being the more ‘Orderly’ of the two factions.

Naga is an odd one - they don’t really like anyone - but then the ‘Enemy of my Enemy’ probably holds true enough while I absolutely don’t see the Nelves forgiving them anytime soon. It’s a stretch, though.

Sethrak that aren’t Faithless actually makes ok sense; they’re on ok terms with the Vulpera and probably can manage diplomacy with the Zandalari so… yeah.

Hozen, Jinyu and Ogres are no-brainers, and Arrakoa and Ethereals… uuuh… No idea.

Edit: There’d be more wiggle room if Earthern weren’t inexplicably being made Both Sides…

that’s why they’d be friends! both have been predated on by the void ethereals!

though the void ethereals (more friends of locus-walker) would be much cooler if we were making them playable. if you hear the whispers, you’re dying…

Having the option of factionless people would open up a lot - the Coilskar naga are strong and firmly Illidari, so clearly open to working with non-naga non-old-god people for a good cause

High arrakoa in the Alliance, Sethekk arrakoa in the Horde. see my vision

Silences or fears you for like five seconds with zero cast time or warning.

I hate TBC even if TBC had some really cool ideas and zones and stories.

This reminds me I am so glad that [Disarm] died a death…

I remember TBC heroics. I do not remember them fondly

Oop, accidentally tagged a frost trapped mob with my Swipe, guess that’s a wipe

To do the first DT dungeon on duty support or with players…

I did every single MSQ dungeon from ShB onwards on duty support, but at times it cost my sanity dearly as I sometimes wiped 8–12 times on a single boss. By the end it started feeling more like a self-imposed challenge and actually a lot more stressful than just doing the dungeon with players (and probably dying once or twice, but eh).

The DT bosses can be tough, especially the later ones - I did them all with NPCs to make sure I learned them but it might be worth going with people where dying doesn’t instantly wipe you
