Pet peeves: The return (Part 8)

Disable screensavers and auto-sleep mode/lock
They only mess with stuff and are useless outside of looks.

Where do i find those settings again?

Open the options thingy, type “screensaver” into the search bar should pop up the thing to disable it. Everything else should be under energy saving settings.

Thank you! Though, honestly, as long as I dont have steam downloading in the background it should be fine. I re-installed Shadow of War after a Shadow of Mordor playthrough.

Speaking of that, I had my past sins catch up to me literally. Booted the game up since years, walked around Gorgoroth, get jumped by a lvl 77 legendary Olog who I apparently beheaded. He got the title “the Stitch” because he came back as an abomination, and promptly killed me.

I love the Nemesis system ( no really I do, I also love the personality they gave to all the different Uruks and Ologs in that game).

I was looking forward to buying and playing Avowed and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 later this year. Both games have been delayed until next year. Unfortunate but hopefully it means a smoother experience overall when they’re both finally out.

I might get Black Myth: Wukong since the combat looks fun and I like Chinese aesthetics/mythology. Hopefully it runs smoothly on the PS5.

Unless your monitor is the kind that is prone to get burned in images screensavers are just kinda useless. And outside of if you have your PC in a place that’s easily accessible to others who you’d rather not give free access to your PC so is the auto-lock

Easily the best thing about the games
I don’t understand why others didn’t try to jump onto that system harder. There were some attempts (I think? Been so long…) but never anything like in SoM directly.

Warner Bros copyrighted it, I’m pretty sure? In a typical ‘Corpos gonna corpo’ :poop: move…

They patented the specific implementation in SoM, pretty hard to do anything with that outside of when someone literally goes CTRL+C, CTRL+V

But it probably put most smaller dev teams off of dealing with that yeah

They forgot Thrall again.

Anduin, Jaina, Alleria, Turalyon, Faerin, an Earthen, and one of the Harronir.

But no Thrall.

lol, lmao

Also very funny that in the Dragonflight cinematic Alexstrasza said “The world is healing” and in this video Xal’atath says “Your world is dying”. Make up your mind Azeroth, are you okay or aren’t you??

I think expecting genuine horde rep thesedays is setting yourself up for so mucn disappointment. Absolute dogwater. Long live the alliance or something.

I’ll buy and play war within because I have a raiding community I enjoy but I am at best apprehensive about my ability to enjoy it

When the people writing the story go ‘oops, we forgot to write an entire faction in’ for the twelfth time it stops being cute

im tired boss. i aint got no lok’tar left in me

The fact that Vereesa, the famously living in Dalaran Windrunner sister, was written to be going on an extended walk during all of this likely because nobody asked why she’s not there until it was too late to develop anything makes my soul deflate like a balloon

I’m glad she avoided it, to be honest. Less chance of the writers using it as a near death experience to try and get Horde players to feel sorry for her (strangely retconned) brutal torture and murder of innocent civilian Blood Elves.

Her and Xal’atath secretly planned this.

She’s conveniently out of the city while the void knocks it down, in the plan to get Xal’atath and Alleria together.

KcD, I can wait for a bit longer for them to poliah it up. It looks just as amazing as the 1st one.

Peeved by generation 50+ employing the “shout first, ask questions never” tactic at managing work with others.

Maybe I was busy with all the other stuff and didn’t have time to do the stuff that isn’t even my work in the first place?

Took an early break just so I don’t blow up at them again. For a generation that constantly tells you stories about how your generation is “weak” and “cries when someone says something mean” they will certainly act like you threatened them with bodily harm the second you do so much as drop the customer voice with them.

They basically turn into a pipe bomb of indignity when you so much as mildly tell them off.

I had a manager who tried that with me in front of the others. I told him

A) He was wrong.
B) If he’d taken the time to read my report instead of jumping the gun at a certain word being mentioned, he’d realized he was wrong.
C) It will be the last time he ever does that.

He apologized afterwards and it’s all water under the bridge now, but I do notice it from boomers and their kids that they do not expect you to stand up to them.

Ah yes, the Dovahkiin school of teamwork. A timeless classic.
