Pet peeves: The return (Part 9)

because playing your new dwarf character through dun morogh is presumably more engaging to you at the moment, there’s no obligation to do anything else with your game time xo

He’s probably not Saruman. As for who he is, I don’t know yet. None of the Istari are even supposed to be in Middle-earth yet until the Third Age. I suppose the Dark Wizard could be one of the two Blue Wizards, since there’s almost nothing known about them, and Tolkien wrote that they went East and could have started magic cults there.

Perhaps it’s Goodgulf from Bored of the Rings

“Minas Troney in the Soup” parodies V:4 “The Siege of Gondor” and V:6 “The Battle of the Pelennor Fields”. The boggies are dressed in armour; Goodgulf “wore only an old deep-sea diver’s suit of stoutest latex. … In his hand he carried an ancient and trusty weapon, called by the elves a Browning semi-automatic”.

What a book, although I don’t think my mother knew what she was buying for me at the time (I was probably 10 and had no idea either).

I feel that. I reached 80 with Dagnira and now feel demotivated to do anything in WoW other than RP. I’ve seen the story, Ansurek is available on story difficulty, and raiding and M+ don’t interest me. There’s no point in gearing up because I already have access to all context I’m actually interested in.

I suppose I could play Season of Discovery (which I’ve never played yet) or level Lintian to 80 too.

I hit level 80, twice, spent a week or two binging content, then my interest promptly dropped off a cliff. It was very abrupt and I wandered off to do other stuff.

I think for a while now I’ve enjoyed the game better as a game to adventure through rather than use as a checklist for activities.

Levelling an alt just scratches the itch.

Indeed. My translation was very awkward, though. I need to pick it up in proper english as I do discworld books.

Lately I find destruction warlock performing pretty well. So that’s nice. Big green fireworks make me happy.

My sole motivation for gearing is to be able to solo old mythics that still have BS checks on them. Ive achiveved that. Now idk what to do. Ive lost my mojo with rp entirely and it makes me mad

From what I’ve heard nearly all of them are bugged

Music in a nutshell

(Pet peeve having to post on a useless alt but that’s because classic chars have been nuked, probably a good thing)

This is basically where I’m at.
I do a delve or two and an LFR. But beyond that it’s RP.
I can’t be bothered to level again right now.
Although with TW up, I may spam some dungeons

think i perfected my dwarf priests mog. chat did I cook?

I hate prot.

I more meant fury or arms. But i chose my fury warriopr in the end.

I’d like to try out Rogue Trader, but Owlcat revealing that they’re ok with (gen) A.I. is a big “Ew, No” for me :pensive:
Why can’t we just have nice things?

Arms Colossus.

Numerically inferior to Slayer? Yes.
5% size increase and a sweet looking ability animation? Far more important.

I finished Rings of Power (spoilers)

The actors behind Durin, Adar, Sauron and Celebrimbor delivered outstanding performances. The way Charlie Vickers managed to flip between compassion and violent threats in the same scene was great and made his manipulation of Celebrimbor as Annatar fascinating to watch, until in the end when the mask is completely dropped and he’s just straight up tormenting Celebrimbor. The pain in Durin’s voice as he desperately tried to sway his father to turn away from the ring’s influence, and his father’s redemption sealing the balrog away in the lower depths. Adar’s heartbreaking end, betrayed by his own uruks after he felt a brief moment of respite and hope wearing Nenya.

The Hobbit side quest I never really cared for that much, as it often times felt more like filler to pad out the story when I was more interested in the Eregion and Khazad-dum storylines.

Numenorean politics I don’t have much opinion on. Kemen sucks. I like Elendil’s actor.
