Pet Trainers

Why doesn’t Blizzard just make use of the already existing (and at the moment useless) NPCs called Pet Trainers as a way for us to be able to change the spec of our pet, or even teach new skills to your pet that are from a different family?

I have seen plenty of Hunters asking for the pet spec trees to come back, or at least the option to change spec even if there is no tree. I am one of those persons who would like for that to happen.

However we could even take one step further and use the Pet Trainer to actually train our pet, as the name implies, by teaching abilities they don’t know.

Of course that in order to learn a new ability, from a different family, the pet would have to forget the one it already knows, or else we would just pile abilities on the pet, unless it was one of those “extra” special abilities. And I guess there would have to be some logic behind it, like you wouldn’t be able to teach Updraft (the special Feathermane ability) to a Wolf because it’s an ability related with flying. Also, still using the Updraft example, in order for your pet to be able to learn such an ability you would still need to learn Tome of the Hybrid Beast, or else it would be almost like “cheating” and get the ability without being able to tame the family. Same goes for other special abilities, and also abilities exclusive to Exotic Pets would only be available to BM Hunters, you change spec and the ability is disabled.

I mean, whenever I see a Pet Trainer it’s just a useless NPC with wasted potential.

Plus, this way we would definitly see much more pet diversity, I bet there are lots of Hunters out there who really like a specific pet and would have said pet with them at all times, but they don’t because it’s not optimal, or the spec/ability combo makes it almost useless, and instead go with the best kind of pet available for what they need.

I can give my own example, I really like Owls, and it was my main pet for quite a while but I had to ditch it, due to being Cunning and the ability being a bit lackluster, it’s just a slow, I realized I needed a different kind of pet with me. Either Ferocity or Tenacity depending on what I need. However if I could just change my Owl to Ferocity and teach it Infected Bite and maybe even Updraft, you can bet I would have my owl with me at all times.

Sadly Blizzard atm probably doesnt have any developers who could use already existing old mechanics to spice up the game, instead they just laze around doing “bandaid” % fixes on abilities thinking they are fine as they are. They spend years on developing borrowed power then they just slap it on classes that need to be fixed from the very core. Imagine like putting Ferrari stickers onto Toyota Corolla, thinking this will fix the car.

I loved pet talent trees in Wotlk, unique pet utility they brought, they where more than just Dumb A.i back then as in I would even say that older pet A.i was even better than current version.

Pet survivalability is a joke, its utterly retarded. I cant do a single layer in TC with a “tenacity” pet because it would die during every single pull of 1-3 mobs. So much tenacious. such wow.

Also they need to absolutely fix the damage on BM, currently you yourself do more dps than your pets. So much for beast mastery More like cobra slinger.

Next, why the h*ll give us unprune abilities that have 0 absolute zeeeero synergy to the class/specc? Instead of making arcane shot useful in some way, they even nerf the focus cost so that you wont even mistake in using it, as in it had any use in the 1st place.

As for covenants, well its a sh*tshow. The hunter abilities are complete joke compared to others, imagine that your own tank in m+ can pull mobs out of your 2min cd burst cd, I dont see any other class have this issue. Another is that they made 2/4 of the Covenants absolutely useless aswell.

So, ugh well lets end my rant here. Just frustrated atm, downloaded GW2 lastnight and Im already enjoying free to play game more than this where developers dont even do their work eventhough we are paying customers paying monthly so that we can play not even finished/polished product.
