I think it would be a wasted opportunity for Bliizard to not do Ethereals between the next patch and Midnight.
They were a popular race since their introduction in TBC, and I get that they weren’t introduced in the meantime.
There wasnt, really an fitting storyline, and they always had this air of mystery, with us never knowing their origin or history.
But now with K’aresh we have already learned or will still learn a lot about them and who they were and are now.
Also it makes sense for Members of the K’areshi Trust to join us in the defense of Azeroth against the void, after we helped them save the remnants of K’aresh from Dimensius.
So I really hope Blizzard consider this, can’t really see why not.

More races is always nice, especially if it’s not more Elves or Dwarves or variations of existing races like Draenei/Taurens/Gnomes etc.

But what the high elve fan have shown me yesterday looks like we might get more elves and trolls
But that will probably just be customization options, right?
Cant see more seperate elve or troll races.
For the high elves yes.
Since there is absolutely nothing different at them from blood elves.
Blood elves are high elves thes just don’t use that name anymore.
But for the Amani wich would be the trolls in this case they would need a completely new model since what people want are the buff Amani jungle trolls.
That’s the only reason why I don’t 100% believe in that cause that would mean we get high elves as a customisation and then neutral forest trolls at the same time? That’s kinda strange and unlikely especially since high elves fans want a real race and not a customisations cause these already exist in the game.
But I saw a official short on YouTube from the official world of warcraft channel that looks pretty much like a convincing hint for high elves and Amani trolls
Nah. If they would make them playable it would boil down to having
“Oh we were manipulated, we need to find our true purpose, WE ARE BEST AS WE ARE!” story so no thank you

Their king for one. The titans. There are ways blizzard could twist it into another “oh woes is me I was manipulated” story
One of the most popular requests regarding playable races in wow is for Blizzard to add more customisation options - do You think that adding a race who’s customisation options would be at best to choose the colour of bandages and energy within them is a good idea? Wouldn’t it make all the characters indistinguishable? Would players like to play a character who looks same/almost the same as any other character of that race?
Remember, adding a race with new rig is a huge commitment - any future piece of gear needs to be adjusted to fit it. If a race isn’t popular, you’re gonna use much resources for the joy of few.

They are not going to create a new Starting Zone for them with quests that can give you content worth 2 hours. They are not going to create meaningful racials either. What is the point of new races then? You want them so your transmog can look slightly different on them?
I mean most forsaken also look pretty much the same and that race is quite popular^^
Is a starting zone really that important?
Sure a well made starting zones is nice but most people do it once and they are done with it and probably forget it.
The looks are ofcourse important. A new race can bring a completely new frame and animations.
And then it gives people an identity. Many people like to give character a identity and the race is important to whatever identity they want to have.
Just look at maghar orcs they are the same as the normal orcs but people really really wanted them cause they wanted untainted orcs.
And let’s be real most races have racials you forget.
All of my characters that’s can be forsaken are forsaken.
I have two active and two passive racials and the only nice thing is not needing to breath

Perhaps for Midnight, certainly more interesting than the troll-elves.
Yes, thats the main thing with races nowadays
These “allied races”, which are just reskins of existing races and in some cases even damn ugly reskins (Nightborn, I’m looking at you but I don’t wanna) are just one more excuse to grind reputation and I see little reason to do so.
But if we do get a new playable race, make it something truly epic, like Kobolds or Murlocs. Not just another reskin or a tiny typhoon covered in bandages.
Nope I’m still waiting for Ogres, Arakoa, Naga and Murlocs first!
