I would say that Mythic raiding has its merit. Not all people are content with just doing heroics and calling it a day. However, what bothers me the most is how much attention it gets by both devs and players alike. Yes, it’s the highest dificulty but really man stop creating boss fights with race to world first in mind.
No, mythic is fine as it is… while I don’t care if was turned into transmog only instead of ilvl upgrades… as a difficulty it is just fine, I personally think it’s good there is a difficulty people can aspire to.
This gotta be the worst attempt to troll I’ve seen in a while…
M+ is to punishing it is no fun … you do one mistake and it wipes …
Instead of getting better you want everyone else to be dragged down to your level, since mythic is too hard for you. I’m fine with removing mythic if heroic is then tuned appropriately to match the current level of mythic and normal becomes more like the current heroic. That idea I can get behind.

but then delete heroic and lfr too and make the normal mode hard like mythic
or hard like heroic with hardmode toggle to mythic like in ulduar
Imagine how hard people would cry if we would have the old raids where not even half the people have seen the last boss

His entire topic is to remove mythic. The MOST CASUAL guild I’ve ever been into (we’re talking about literal grandmas playing in it) were able to pull successfuly up to half of mythic.
For 99.99% of guilds heroic clearing + ~half of mythic is only a matter of having a roster that lasts for months/years; many casuals last for months/years.
As a former CE raider who no longer has the time or ambition to play on that level, I simply enjoy spending time in a raid. Heroic is cleared before the tier ends and just re-clearing heroic until next tier is boring.
So I’d rather spend the rest of the tier getting halfway through mythic while spending time with people I enjoy spending time with.
If you forget about achievements and FOMO but just enjoy raiding, what’s wrong with slowly progressing only part of the Mythic raid?

if you want a less difficult version of the content in order to not have to stress about it then i think they might already exist, i forget what its called though something like heroic, or normal.
Mythic Raids have a purpose. They are the ultimate in raiding and something to inspire others.
LFR has a purpose as an alternative to raiding allowing access to story and a glimpse at the fights.
In the middle though, is there a real need of two middle difficulties? If any level were to be removed it should probably be one of those. They both serve the same purpose.
I’m not a raider, nor have I even done LFR this expac yet (likely will do the Sylvanos fight just to see it soon). So I’m only making an observation from the outside.
Everyone can fullclear a mythic raid if they would care. Most of the times why guilds do not clear mythic raids is either they never attempted to clear it or have people who hold them back.
Mythic raiding in most guilds is the same. You got a handful of good people and have to hope the other half somehow steps up their gameplay… this is a reason why some people stopped caring. Relies too much on people and if people have no will to fully care it is a setback and no one will succeed.

not sure about that, if they go back to how it was in ulduar, where you had hard modes instead of mythic, it was much more fun that way to be honest.
even if mythic works fine now, the work put out to be able to go there, will for many outweight the fun factor, where if there was hard mode that give out more items, as op said, it could work.
heck they could even make every boss in a raid have different difficulties, like M+ works, where if you kill the boss on normal you can then kill the boss on heroic, and it goes up like that higher and higher, that could be realy intresting, balancing would prolly be horrible though hehe.
I think better accept there are people who can’t. How hard they try. It is stupidly difficult. And that is fine.
I would think the same if I didnt have people in my raid roster all the time who couldnt follow a command such as “just stand still” and causing wipes or running into maiden mythic balls all the time and not being colorblind. Its a matter of raid leader replacing those people and if it doesnt happen due to “reasons” then you will not succeed or many months later because of a handful of people.
It is quite contradicting you give examples of people not good enough, and still keep on the statement that everyone can fullclear a mythic raid.

No content should be removed from ANY player just because another player may have an issue with it.
Doesn’t matter if its mythic, or LFR.
And most importantly.
Its an optional difficulty on a VIDEO GAME!
If only people cared as much about what happens out their front door as they do about what happens in a videogame.
