Playing through some of starting zones on my alt and i am outleveling everything uber quick … even without spamming LFG
I understand everything is streamlined to hit end game asap … but people get burnt out spamming end game content … give us the option to slow things down
I think its time for XP sliders
All of these updated zones when cata hit and we never see any of them anymore

You can lock your exp and finish all the zones in your level range.

I just remembered a system I saw in Dungeons and Dragons Online (possibly exists in other games too):
Level-ups are not automatic, but manual. When you reach the experience needed to level up, you keep getting experience and banking it until you decide to use it from your character screen. Maybe this could help with players outlevelling content by letting them remain at a content-appropriate level without however “losing” that experience from locking their level.

The code is in the game for this. Like grant levels to a raf recruit.
Ah memories

How about an option where you can set the xp gains Classic or Retail style when creating a character?
In classic leveling is very slow, it would be perfect for those who want to experience the zones in a longer timeframe or want to do all quests. Similar to a long war mode in other games.

Though if people want to play Classic-style, they can just play Classic?
Plus the solution was already posted in the first response: just freeze your exp.
Exp sliders sound like a good idea all around, but I doubt they would be implemented.

Classic has a lot of differences, the xp gain is only a fraction of that. And if you lock your xp it has a bad feeling of losing progress (and you actually do lose that xp while questing). The locking-unlocking you constantly have to return to the npcs is also a chore.
you can already do that by playing classic version

well they’d have to turn it back into an rpg, but we live in a time of corporate gaming and they don’t like rpg’s they like making lots of money from sports franchises and fps’ers, Dragon Age Andromeda anyone?
Except we want to play retail and enjoy the content, not classic.
Not for all zones. Can’t lock at level 79, for example.
