One of the things i most enjoyed in sod was playing different classes. I got a Shaman, Hunter and mage at lvl 50 and i am maining druid this phase. I did the 0.5 quest (wich was horrible but its ok) , i am almost exalted with argent down for the fr enchant , same with hidraxian and thorium and i will be rank 10 this weekend. All this things are but i am all in with the classic vibe and i am ok with that.
The problem for me is that by no means i am leveling an alter and doing all that again , and i am sure when i get bored of world bosses , onyixia and MC i will quit until next phase if i even come back cause i almost dropped after p4 delay.
I think things like making the attunement for onyxia an account thing was great but i would love to see it expanded to other things like 0.5 tier set and repu enchants , thoose items in my opinion should be BOA because by no means i am doing that on my alters.
sorry for broken english

Personally, I don’t like the idea of too many catch-up mechanics. Similar to other “inconveniences” and “frictions” in Classic it does serves some functions.
- Character Identity
If it is difficult to start over, you might feel more compelled to stick with your main and therefore also your class, which can more or less make the class feel like a part of your identity. For a long time in WoW’s history many famous players were very much known by their class, e.g. you knew that someone was a “rogue-player” or a “mage-player”. This has become much less pronouned in recent years due to the alt friendliness of retail. Personally, I always liked that, it was kind of cool.
- Character Attachment
Similarly, it also makes you more attached to your character (due to being “stuck” with it), which can be a good thing.
- Replayability
This is kind of tricky, because in a seasonal version of WoW like SoD, less alt-friendliness will give you less replayability because people will not want to invest an extreme amount of time into multiple characters if they are not persistent. On the other hand, on a persistent version of WoW like Era or a potential Classic+, this ultimately gives you more replayability & you have all the time in the world to do the content.
So, it probably makes sense to make SoD more alt-friendly, because it is seasonal, but the devs should be careful about making a alt-friendliness in a potential Classic+.

The game would be much better if you could just hit 60 and be instant tier 0.5.
But a lot of people want to gate-keep and feel special about completing stuff so they will cry out about it.
I would love to try some classes in dungeons & raids, But yeah, not doing all that stuff again.
If you have done the 0.5 quest chain, they should make it available account wide and leave t0 on the real vendor for people. Had some goober argue that it wasnt a good idea to jus ding 60 and have instant pre bis but with the heats being a thing now, it isnt pre bis. Trying to find people to do wild offerings and the absolutely dogsh*t priest rune in stratholme when all anyone wants to do is blast through is a bit of a nightmare. Not really fun anymore
You complain about people wanting to blast through the content but ask for everything to be handed to you on a plate at the same time, it’s part of the issue.
SoD is much more alt friendly than we give it credit for, mainly because no one cares about pre-bis. I cleared MC on my alt who’s still ST geared without trouble. You don’t wanna do the T0.5 quests ? Don’t, it’s not keeping you out of end game.
You want to go for Heat level 3 ? Then yeah you gotta farm but don’t worry the catch up mechanics will come soon.
After main I lv up and gear it take me prob 2 weeks to lv one alt from 4 and really Idk how I will gear that alt since still need to farm rep and chase other things on main for fire res gear, consumables etc is just too much wotk for just one char.
My guild had all this seasons main+ alt raids but this time I really dont think people wants to lv up alts.
A lot things in this season dont make any sense which make so hard to have alts as for example exalted rep with AD to get fire enchant lol
yes lets invalidate all endgame dungeons in one fell swoop because you don’t want to play the game.
brilliant take bro.
thank god you’re not on the dev team.

You still need to do them for coins everyday, they will never be invalidated.
You might need to still do them but its almost nearly impossible to get a diremaul dungeon
Yeah about leveling up an alter and going to heat 1 like someone said , yeah , thats an option , the problem is that for me whats fun is doing things with guild , we are aiming for heat 3 next week and i am already strugling to get the fr for main , there is no way i am doing that with 1 alter, with the effort it takes . i have no time .
Like someone said its not like tier 0.5 is prebis , not with the fr requirements.
It isnt even that u get the 0.5 for free , how much it costs , 500g? And it’s not that i want the items without doing nothing , i already completed a q that took several days with main , its the same case as the ony attunement. I understand thoose who are against it but really will maintain me away from alters as long as fr requirements are a thing.
Some of you may enjoy going with pugs to raids but on the general basis thoose raids are souless , u barely talk with the 20 people u are in with and it transforms to a normal dungeon feel.
wdym they even gave us a free ony attunement for rerolls…
Maybe i did not phrased it correctly , wym is that they should expand that BOA they did on ony attunement to 0.5 and repu enchants
I see what you mean, but if u can do everything in a month. Then you could do the bare minimum on an alt for the rest of the phase.
I get not grinding argent dawn or whatever, but surely getting geared for heat 1 MC is incredibly easier than what you’ve done so far.
I guess i just feel that having an alt isn’t the same as you would want 2 mains.
