Right now ingame phoenix flames can’t be used with fireball during a heating up proc because a non-crit fireball travels faster and resets the proc before phoenix flames can hit the target. It would create a good flow for the spec in SL if phoenix flames was faster than fireball.

You use it when you haven’t got a heating up proc and fire it off the same time as fireball. It’ll hit at about the same time to guarentee at least one proc.
Edit: should have said, don’t us it unless you have a fire blast rdy to convert a heating up into a hot streak

Would honestly heavily advice against using pheonix flames, but if you do wanna use it, you’re mainly gonna use it for combust, and you use 1 outside of combust for it to line up.
That one can just be used, as minnji said, with a fireball if you don’t have a heating up and you have a fireblast.
If fireball crits, then you have a hot streak that you can pyro, if it doesn’t crit then you can cast next fireball and fireblast, and it’s all good.

Huh… did it really guarantee a proc if you PF or FB at the same time? I forgot that’s the case! Haven’t played it for so long…

It has the same interaction fireball and pyro do yh, could be a bit iffy at long range I think. Has been a while.
