Phone Number Verification Issue in Kazakhstan

Hello,

I would like to draw the developers’ attention to a technical issue that players from Kazakhstan are facing.
In our country, phone numbers start with the code +7, the same as in Russia. Because of this, Blizzard’s system mistakenly treats these numbers as Russian and blocks them under the current restrictions.

As a result:

  • Players from Kazakhstan cannot link their phone numbers to their accounts.
  • Account protection features and game services that require phone confirmation remain unavailable.
  • This creates serious limitations in the gameplay experience, even though accounts and payments from Kazakhstan remain active and legitimate.

It is important to note that:

  • Using new numbers does not solve the problem — the error remains the same.
  • I personally tried changing operators and even bought numbers from different providers, but the issue persists.
  • The system requires a “pay as you go” plan, but such plans simply do not exist with Kazakhstani operators, making this requirement impossible to fulfill.

For me personally, this issue has remained unsolved for over 8 months. During this time, I have tried multiple solutions, purchased new SIM cards, switched operators, created new tickets, and had endless conversations with support — all without results.

This situation is clearly a technical error in phone number recognition, since Kazakhstani numbers are valid and are not subject to the restrictions applied to Russia.

I kindly ask you to review this issue and consider adjusting the system so that:

  • Kazakhstan is properly recognized as a separate country when validating phone numbers.
  • Players from Kazakhstan can fully use Blizzard’s services, the same as players from other regions.

This problem directly affects a large number of players and the community as a whole, which is why I believe it requires closer attention from Account & Technical Support and the developers.

Thank you for your understanding.
