Ping/latency/packet loss problem on EU realms. Vodafone ISP

Last 2-3 weeks (with severity of cadency increasing more and more) I have terrible lag/ping problem in WoW.

It goes randomly, hours and hours of my usual ±30ping, then sudden jump to 80-100 for few hours. Sometimes only the ping is higher, sometimes there is about 1% packet loss as well. Here and there (for example today when I wanted to raid) ping jumps to some crazy numbers like 200+, with packet loss over 5%. Lasts tens of minutes, then stabilize again (either on ±30 or 80-100) and is usually fine for few hours from there.

The higher 80-100 windows happens usually late afternoon and evening (night/late nigher/early morning is fine around 30 usually), the extreme latency spikes with high packets loss I was monitoring any time of the day.

When it happens, all the other services/games are fine, I can play CoD with 15ping, any other nonblizzard game on usual 15-40 on eu servers. Zero packet loss. Only eu.battle.net and especially wow eu servers have the issue. I have seen increased latency (50-60) on overwatch as well just as a quick test, but I dont really play it so I dont know what it looks like “normally”. Only other blizzard game I play regularly nowdays are the ones where ping is not shown or is irrelevant so I cant speak for those.

Vodafone Czechia (Prague).

Same problem here too, at this time the game is unplayable, it only happens with wow, i checked everything my internet connection is good and i have 0 problems with another game/stuff.

Vodafone Portugal

Same thing here. Vodafone Romania. I have been talking with a Vodafone employee last few days. It’s clearly a problem and it is clearly making the game unplayable.

Hi, I am suffering the same issue from last week - also Vodafone Czechia - only solution so far is Cloudflare WARP OR some other VPN service sadly…

Same here, Vodafone Greece. 130-250 ms daily spikes for a few hours, playable with a vpn at around 90.

Agree 100%, two companies not doing anything about it. Blizzard ticket dodget the problem and on Vodafone they dont care about some realm ping issues in videogame = gg for community.

There was a thread about this last week, and it was determined that Vodafone are routing connections to Blizzard EU all the way via California US and back again, for some reason.

Vodafones routing is NOT a Blizzard problem, and Blizzard have no way of fixing it, because its a Vodafone problem.

You’re not telling the whole story there mate… First is not just vodafone, then it is also shown that for some people the problem is Blizz infrastructures. Don’t be like this…
