so we’ve got new Trading Post items for September, new twitch drop for September, The Seafarer Pack and Wondrous Wavewhisker in store…All of them contain sea and pirate theme. I am wondering if Blizzard will reveal next expansion as Pirates of Azeroth or something like that.
What if dragonriders from Dragon Isles continue to explore not just Dragon Isles but the whole Azeroth (even the other side of the planet) and they discover new lands filled with new races and sea ports, similar to Boralus, etc.? We already have Kalimdor Cup in the game so I think you can ride your dragon across the whole planet and discover some new lands. It could be another down to earth expansion as DF and it makes sense.
What are your thoughts? Do you want another down to earth expansion or do you prefer something like 11.0 Vastness of the Void?
There’s various hints and mentions of The Nightsquall, some famous pirate who has been to the other side of Azeroth.
There’s also hints and mentions of a far off place called Avaloren.
I do not know if this will be the next expansion, but they are clearly (in my opinion atleast) laying the foundation for the future. I doubt this will be next expansion tho, as these long-term roadmaps tend to be planned years before (pretty sure Dragonflight was settled on before Shadowlands even released)
Just please let it be a actual expansion and not a random patch out of no where like Nzoth was pirates have been a repeated presence in WoW for so long id rly like to see it be a full expansion.
Also a nice break from everything being about the huge overpowered big threat to azeroth, to have some time just fighting more natural themed enemies
Itd also be a good point to build on alot of core WoWs lore, we have run through soo many lands and massacred the threats and had so many big enemies outright vanquished.
They could depict how enroaching groups of villians try snd claim terroritory.
Lots of new open world content + even modernising and updating a few old places to really ramp up content. As by nature pirates would attempt to take ports to mainlands.
i wish for new island expedition grinds for any kind of ap…df is boring as hell, nothing to do if you got everything from m plus and raid…maybe a little bit boosting for gold, but besides this nothing sadly
But AP doesnt need bringing back to make this a thing lol, island expeditions can exist without a limitless grind that cages players into having substantially unreasonable quantites of input to keep up.
AP had its pros, theres no denying the system did some things well, but its also not deniable it most defintly had its flaws.
Id rather discuss what could replace AP, rather then throwing old systems back into the game.
They did this with unpruning the game and now people are mad and want legion 2.0 to occur to reprune the system.
Also if they redo a island expedition. Id like to see it progressed past the half baked 15 minute rush it became. Is like to see a actual expedition.
The monthly trading posts seem to be frequently themed around the month’s events and with the annual Pirates Day mini holiday being this month - I think that’s more likely to be why there’s a bunch of piratical things in the post (and shop!).
So no coincidence - but also no conspiracy!
That said I have seen the hints elsewhere that they may be setting something seafaring/pirate related. I guess we will see when Blizzcon comes around.
