You probably need to enable the “HardcoreDeaths” channel.
Right click on chat “General” - Settings - Global channels
It’s very broken. Every time i open the game or /reload the setting goes back to global deaths instead of guild deaths. Also many times deaths doesn’t show up at all. And giga conflict with deathlog addon.
WELL DONE INDIE.
yeah, i would call it broken as intended never worked for me - returning to DL addon.
Hey, don’t blame EA Blizzard.
That’s a workaround I’m using at the moment but I mean System messages in red we previously had. I miss them and I want them back. Seems like they got removed with SoD Phase 3 patch.
I am naive enough that Blizzard will fix it and I would encourage each and everyone to report it as a bug to get some attention from Blizzard.
Did you /join HardcoreDeaths channel?
Yes, why do you ask?
I didn’t get any alerts until I joined that channel
Prior to Phase 3 SoD update, there were System message in red when a player died.
Would be nice to have it back but seems like ppl don’t care.
Those messages are in the harcoredeaths channel now, after you update the settings in options-> interface → display, you can turn the font red in settings, it works this way at least for me and for our guildies. I see all deaths there in the color of my liking :). I also use deathlog, it adds more detail (like the last words ) if the other party also uses it and it updates the heatmap and there is a pop up message in the center of your screen as well. That said I prefer the cheer over the plonk sounds ;).
So Blizzard intentionally removed System Notification for deaths and made Hardcoredeaths channel?
Or
options-> interface → display
is just a player workaround?
I don’t know man, I just know that you need to select the correct settings in the display menu and join the hardcoredeaths channel to see them, even deathlog doesn’t work without this for me. Since it’s in the bliz option menu I don’t think it’s a work around but with the latest updates I can’t say that it is an intended change either
doesnt work for me. I enabled it, joined the channel, but nothing happens. Joined the dl channel as well to confirm that blizzard’s client does nothing.
Blizzard stated as of 10.2.7. They are limiting frequency at what addons can exchanging a lot of data in form of text messages in closed channels between the players. Probably done to increase server capacity. Since we all play on DF engine that may had affected HC deaths addon.
