Player Harassment

It’s been like that for quite some time now. Many years.

Blizz realised many just want to get rid of the box.

My most ridiculous kick was in Wailing Caverns. The tank skulled a mob, it was the only thing there, no other mobs and I joked something along the lines of ‘thank goodness you marked the skull, I wouldn’t have known what to hit :p’. The tank then initiated a vote kick and I was gone. I clearly misjudged the group and my sense of humour. I just levelled a bit and re-queued when my penalty went.

Can tell I’m not the sort to click yes then can’t you
Didn’t even realise lol

haven’t known you to be overly sarcastic but that’s quite funny lol
Expected a “you know guys, safety first” response, but instead gets the kick :joy:
Was it on classic?

yup, ppl say “brb 1min” and they get kicked out insta, it happens. saw one while level alt. its not end of the world go next

the most toxic ones ive seen are those that que 3man and take the group as a hostage demanding someones kick or they wont advance in the dungeon forcing others to leave or vote with them :joy:

No this was Retail.

I giggled to myself and decided my sense of humour clearly doesn’t appeal to everyone.

How on earth did you end up in WC in retail? I mean that’s quite epic that you were even there as I’m not aware of any dungeon finder for it? Or am I mistaken on that too?

what you said is the classic british humor and a sprinkle of sarcasm :joy:

maybe you made him feel insecure of himself so he initiated a kick out of so little, but clear was he did not like it, a crying shame, someone trying to keep things interesting

bad audience :joy:

It was in leveling pool until level squish. Actually, it maybe still is if you select cata timeline.

I was tanking wailing caverns once and marked a mob with a skull.

Some paladin dared to make a wisecrack so I asserted my dominance and got them kicked.

Years later that same paladin killed me in a BG, as a traitorous alliance merc. If that vile act alone isn’t worth a ban, nothing is tbh.

The funniest I heard was someone who queued for a leveling BG and then either used / bought a char booost and got into the BG as max level and then went and roflstomped the opposition because they were 40 levels higher than them. Blizz didn’t see the funny side.

Some paladin dared to make sarcasm out of it so someone in the group made a votekick out of it and got them kicked.

Years later I came into post on forum and I saw 2 of the people from the group talk of it

Still to this day I think the kick initiated wronged the paladin

This needs to continue with more stories :joy:

despite it not effecting me , this is quite sad :frowning:

Or for those who blindly defend it: they should at least change it so that for the duration of the debuff can still queue for pugs but just not with the same people you were previously with.

Which would made this debuff completly useless.

I do think it’s harder when it’s just written text to know that someone is just trying to make a joke or maybe they didn’t share my humour.

I’ve had other groups that have been on the same wavelength as me and we’ve joked our way through a dungeon etc. The bulk no one speaks much but it’s hard to stop and type when you’re going through a place pulling non stop.

This was actually before Chromie time, however you can still choose the Cataclysm timeline and get the Classic dungeons.

I’d forgotten about our encounter in Eye of the Storm. I think that was back in BfA, curse those essences

Pretty sure you messaged me ‘Traitor’ on bnet too

I just always click “no”. Never had a reason to remove someone.

I never do levelling dungeons because it’s just a bad environment to me. It’s like the WoW version of a workplace, pretty much no one is there because they like it.

I just don’t take it personally, I just leave in case anyone is harassing me or is toxic towards me. I have had my moments, where I was reallllyyy tired, usually friday, and I let myself go (as in I sent the person a " nice" message), but I always regret that, since I lower myself towards their level. These days, I just leave, and do something else.

I only really had two occasions since I started playing in WoD.

One was when I was leveling my disc priest during BFA. It was wotlk timewalking so I figured I do a few dungeons during it. Got into a group with a trio from Ragnaros. The prot paladin wasn’t using Shield of the Righteous or defensives at all and he was double pulling in UP.

It was the first and last time I had to sit down to drink between trash packs, as I could barely keep the paladin alive with Shadow Mend spam.

We got up to the packs after the dragon rider boss, and wiped because he double pulled the packs there too and none of the fears got interrupted. I was kicked after that for not being able to heal while being feared for 5+ seconds. This was around the time when vulpera was introduced, so that may have something to do with the reason of the kick as well.

The other one was in BFA as well, during cataclysm timewalking. I got called in as DPS into a vortex pinnacle. We got a paladin tank who proceeded to run off and pull every trash pack up to first boss and then promply died, along with everyone else.

I mentioned in chat that it may be better if he does to do such pulls in VP. Got kicked before the first boss. I whispered one of the players in the group to inquire why I was kicked. That I did not find out in the end, but from him I know that the tank pulled the first boss after I got kicked, they wiped on said boss and then said tank left the group.

That was out of atleast a thousand dungeons I ran between WoD up until now.
