Yes a new System that makes people go to the world and farm/quest/gather/world events/hell even new proffesion for it for player housing items/recipes its a whole new economy addition into the game that’s the beauty of it i remember me and the guild in gw2 farming expensive Holograms/Recipes/Mats to build jumping puzzles/plots/arena/furneture/sky boxes for the Guild hall and it was awesome , i also remember ARCHEAGE(Before it went pay to win) Guildies going to the open world and farming crafting mats/doing pack runs getting ambushed from other group of opposite faction or even your own(“Crime points and its entire judging and going to prison system which later made you a pirate if you never gone rid of them[3rd faction]”) across the world for Player housing stuff only later to start entire war in the zone and its the spirit of MMORPGS and not only hamster wheel Climb the ILVL in instanced raid/m+ so you can clear it faster next time.
Gathering pets/mounts/mogs is horizontal progression and that’s what WoW is missing when people farm most mogs/mounts/pets they also in instance don’t forget , and interestingly when was the last time you AFKed in Valdrakken and someone came to you and typed anything in /say /whisper and said Yoo where you got that mog/mounts??? all just afk and go from now and then into M+/Raid/Pvp que.
Yeah wow been labeled as MMORPG but forgot about its Role Playing Game(RPG) and about its Massive Multiplayer World that’s why they tried and add meaningful world weekly events in DF but once all were done with their gearing to Epic close to no one does them anymore besides gearing alts for a easy catch up gear/some upgrade tokens and what’s the problem there? again your beloved vertical stat progression of climbing the ladder and not more horizontal systems like player housing that you could get from it.
WoW survived just fine?? wow lost more then 50% of its player base while most people to this day drop wow after new expansions MSQ or after gearing a bit because there is no ROLE PLAYING GAME or MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER WORLD once people done the lvling and gearing the world is 99% empty besides achiv farmers like me, also don’t forget wow is heavily monetized (Buy exp/Buy sub/Ingame store) which carries it a lot, Should i remind you that RP players still need to get 3rd party addon to even RP properly in the game because there is no such system to support it? its incredible how you advertise for this game to be a Hamster wheel of gear chasing without updating their Options for players while in fact blizzard goes and adds Delves(Instanced SOLO dungeon) for players to get weekly reward maybe because they understand they need more Systems for the players to go out into the world and do(Even if its SOLO) just like they stated “We want to make the world to feel alive and give players reason to go out there” but then add Gear/Vertical reasoning behind it(99% of cases) later to see that no one cares about “World Events” after they are geared .
“Play a game which already has it?” any MMO on the market has it and it seems like you want to WoW lose even more players then or maybe you just go and play a game that doesn’t advertise itself as MMORPG and is a DUNGEON CRAWLER game like Wayfinder and just sit at the Hub and que into M+ all day , remind me how much people watch M+ or World first Mraid clear? how much is it from the entire WoW player pool? 0.05%?
Seems to me players care way more about Evergreen new systems in MMORPGS that keep them playing and not just mindless climbing the ladder anew every season , I am myself a high rated PvP player and RBG leader which pushed 2380 Rated bgs in BFA just to find out no one realy plays RBGs anymore in season 2 of it , seems to me like people who realize that’s all to it at End game just can’t stick around and just come back at new EXP release so plz get your Understanding of the term MMORPG right and its not Dungeon Crawler or Gearing simulator.
It was supposed to be in Vanilla, yet they discarded it because they had no time (like they almost did for the whole of Forsaken race). The remnant was that gate with a portal in Stormwind, between trade district and the old town if I remember correctly. That was the supposed entrance to instanced houses.
I feel the same about pvp and raids; Blizzard needs to stop wasting money on these niche activities.
In your opinion. It’s not factually a waste if plenty of people like and engage with a system. This is what a game like WoW is about: Keeping people engaged and logging in because they’re enjoying the game.
WoW also survived 18 years perfectly well without dynamic flight; yet many people love that they added it.
If the game never adds anything new, then the game perishes. So they do add new stuff; all the time. Housing could just be one of those things.
But just because you don’t like it, it’s a waste of resources?
If that’s how it works PvP, raids and MANY systems from the past have been a waste of resources because I don’t like it.
Not true; in SWTOR for instance you have different options: You can keep your stronghold private, you can set it so people in your friends list of guild can enter or you can open it up for everyone; allowing people to visit it whenever they want (they can’t change things of course).
It could completely revitalize old content and the achievement system, with loot tables and rewards being altered to include stuff for your house (hell, some of it could even be sellable on the AH; making the system interesting even for those who don’t want a house).
There was a time when I would have loved to see player housing in the game, but the way Blizz have been implementing all these goofy Fortnite style additions to the game like beachware, water pistols, flowery mogs as well as all the other cringeworthy content, I don’t hold out much hope for it now.
Maybe if they did it the way it was handled in Rift, where you had a large area of land to yourself that you could build on, which was instanced and not openly visible in the world. I dunno maybe just maybe it would work.
I’d hate it to be like Lotro, where you port into an area where everyones houses are visible.
I can just see all the cringy out of place immersion breaking items on display outside people’s homes.
As long as you can personalize it (and maybe choose the zone, or at least the continent you want) and it’s not a grindfest with power attached to it, I would love to have a housing system.
WoW fits role play game very well. Role Play Game. I want to be a Mage in this adventure. So I make a Mage and go on my adventure.
That is all RPG games are. It’s only because a few people who want to take drama school a step to far.
Sorry, but I’m putting you on ignore now. You obviously don’t have WoW’s best interests at heart here. You clearly want to make the game a worse game.
I have never read so much tripe in my entire life. If FF14 does it the way you want it, go play FF14. Let WoW be WoW, that’s why it’s the better game by a million miles, because the don’t waste resource on trash like this!
Its a waste because it’ll make other MAIN content worse, because instead of class balancing or making better dungeons Jo from creative department will devoid most of his time on figuring out how to implement a flicking system of being able to choose where to place a chair.
I’m Blizzard’s target audience, I want them to do their thing and become better in it because systems as it is are far from ideal, not derail their efforts on some crappy gimmicks.
Oh yeah they’ll expand team only for implementing housing, because lay offs have shown that they are very eager to hire more and more people BWAHAHAHAHA.
Target audience of not implementing housing for 20 years
You apparently don’t, judging from your silly example.
They have teams. Do you think TWW will be worse because they made Plunderstorm and Remix?
Their team is big enough to handle it if they choose to develop the system over time; it doesn’t need to be the main focus until close to actually implementing it.
So because they haven’t done something yet, they should never do it?
Do you know how they create new systems? How they’ve been making new systems for the past 20 years? By developing stuff they hadn’t developed before.
Of course they have classic team that they created to develop classic modes, what are you on??
Remix and plunderstorm are efforts of team that supports retail s4 with new content, and they have team that develops future expansions.
I bet you counted every member, its not like wow has poor support staff and problem with QA, we need housing guys!!!1111
If we believe - anything is possible XD
Yes they created systems that expand on existing ones, not entirely new like player housing
Those are not devs.
What are these weird nonsensical arguments? Just throwing everything at the ceiling to see what sticks?
Another reply that makes no sense.
Have you run out of arguments?
It’s clear you don’t want housing because you don’t like it.
Well… Tough. The devs make stuff all the time and not everything will appeal to everyone. There’s some good recent examples of that.
