PLAYER HOUSING in MIDNIGHT

Well… WoW just ding its 20th anniversary.
20 years to figure out how to balance classes, but they only find out how to copy from the neighbor and recolor stuffs at the Trading Post😂

If that’s what you think, why are you still playing?

And they better be distinct from each other and not just recolors.

I wish to reroll as a goblin slumlord, and exploit them ruthlessly for everything from tap rent and window tax to bolt preservative and regulation checks for metal fatigue (for a modest fee).

Failing that give me Duskwood. Low property values, no overhead flights and none of the perverts from Goldshire.

“And i am extra hyped since ion said in an interview that they plan it as an evergreen feature that they work on and improve with the time.”
You know what it means. In other words, nothing will be ready or tested at release. They present some “releasable” core framework made of various copy pastas full of bugs and once the presales are done, they will put it to “TO DO” status and forget about it until they make paid skins for the next not so big patch.

i´m glad we have so many body type 2´s working for blizzard because they are the ones that are masters when it comes to something like this.

I hope housing system won’t be similar to FF14. Plot system ruins the fun. It should be instanced like Garrison or the one similar to ESO, and most importantly “for everyone” to whom meet the requirements. Also a nice opportunity for a new profession, Woodcrafting crafting decorative stuff and Lumberjack as secondary gatherer.

I disagree i think they should use a plot system plots should be purchased and be able to be sold by players my hope would be that these houses should be visible to other players.

Having instanced player houses would just be like garrisons imo and they did not go down well

It would be great to have a house and kinda have like neighbours so it feels like a village / community wow has got a lot of dead space in zones that could be utilized its 2024 the tech may be there but im not a game developer lets see what they do in midnight.

That would definitely lead to houses being sold for real money on dodgy websites and breaching the tos

why whould using a plot system have any influence on it being instanced or not? FF14 uses plots and the houses are instanced just not the outside.
And houses have to be instanced on the inside so random clowns cant hang around in your house…
The FF14 houses are freaking awesome but the plot system with the limited amount available is the single worst part of it, player able to buy or sell them whould make that even worse de you really want an in game real estate market…

If they do this then I am out. I don’t want to see this and certainly don’t want a real estate market in the game either. Though knowing that they always looking for gold sinks to sell tokens, it would not surprise me if they did indeed go this route.

Remains to be seen which route they take and what is more lucrative for them. Players buying new accounts constantly or players buying tokens to purchase plots or both.

For all I care, sure…

But then everyone else gets to “Have fun” paying double goldcap to acquire one after people like me hoover them up with alts for pocket change on day 1, just to prove how bad the idea of selling them was. And I wouldn´t be doing it on just one realm, either, why go small when I can easily finance the next 10 years of my subscription in 1 day or at the most week? :beers:

Now, imagine how much more ruthless abd arguably despicable I would possibly behave If i didn´t already have a well paying job, and instead used WoW as my prinary source of income as is teh case with many people in less developed countries as well as many streamers that “do nothing else”…

Mount Everest would look like a grain of sand compared to the mountain of :poop: that would inevitably result in…because with the current community, if they´re limited in supply and you´re not already spending 1k+/ month on Tonkens or RMT (Or a “professional” gold farmer with multiple goldcaps on their account that just laughs about the price of he new brutosaur), you are de facto never going to own one, end of discussion.

…Or “thousands” (My personal estimate would be at least a 6 if not 7 figure total) of players simply tell blizzard to go fornicate themselves and quit altogether, because Enough is enough and they´re done being jerked around and dry-humped for nothing.

I mean, the feature they´ve been clamoring for for > 20 years, that was originally promised all the way back in Beta, was finally introduced to much fanfare and hype… but they weren´t willing to get a second RL job to support engaging with it (or already have one and a third is a no -starter), so they said “F this :poop:” and quit, like most rational human beings would in light of such a massive disappointment.

Do not make hope about housing. people.

We are talking about blizzard. Not SquareEnix.

The compagny who only care about money and not for customer satisfaction.

The housing ll be disappointing.

As a blood elf, I m not hoping for my own house with orcish/orgrimmar lookalike mud house with spike and horns. (like the garrison)

With Bliz version Microsoft, housing’s walls will be 90$, the roof will be 20$, and the doormat will be 50$ :joy:

Even a game like Wayfinder which is really minor next to WoW, has a decent housing. The entry is the same for all players, but the decoration content expand as you progress in the game.
So elements of decoration linked to achievements, defeated bosses, special transmogs, etc…

To take another example, Wildstar had a very nice housing, with a mini instance per player on flying islands.
Then for the place in the world, Azeroth has flying islands like on Dragonflight. Just need to make an entry by portal, then each player has an instanced flying island, where you can make one or two houses, a garden, a workshop, interior and exterior.

Bliz saw GW2 release the Skyscale, Bliz makes the dragon flight.
Bliz saw GW2 release housing, Bliz announces housing.
No need for 20 years to make a decent housing, proof is they will do it in a few months.

I hope this wasted development time on player housing isn’t something which is going to be forced on you. Like I don’t want a WoD 2.0 where the starter quest line takes you to build the garrison / player housing and it becomes a mandatory bit of content like torghast. I intend to completely ignore this feature as its not something I am interested in and never really understood why so many people want this. I play WoW like it’s a single player game and limit my communication with others to the absolute minimum but I still like seeing the cities populated.

I’m just gonna post my prediction somewhere and that somewhere is here.
People are super excited over a feature blizzard failed twice already, people expect gold and we’re gonna get gold painted copper.

Don’t get your hopes too high, it’s Blizzard we’re talking about and no way they will live to the HUGE and unrealistic expectations people have towards it.
They shouldn’t have announced anything like this so early in dev time. It’s both choking TWW, choking the new expansion already and clearly told us they didn’t have much to show other than promising a whole new cool feature that they barely know what to do with it.

Don’t forget Warbands were the ultimate definer of this expansion and their progression on it is still like at 10%. They gotta fix what they have on hands before announcing new time consuming tasks.

This will come to bite them right at their butts in a year.
My prediction is done, I’ll share this post when it comes out and those forums are slandering left and right.

I for one am keeping my expectations REALLY LOW for Housing and I know I’ll still be left disappointed.
