Its a good idea, but we all know Blizzards track record of taking a good idea and somehow messing it up big time
Housing will lead to world feeling empty. It will be another example of community feedback/request backfiring.
Somewhat cynical, but i can see your point. As someone said earlier in tnis thread, 10 (euros or GBP) to turn a painting of a fruit bowl into a lady…
Not a fan of solo things in mmo, also more important things they should do currently.
I don’t think housing is a good idea.
I expected it would happen anyway.
But it’s sooner than I thought.
But Blizzard does!
Do they though?
Part of me feels like they’re just giving in to peer pressure and popular demand, and there’s a business side to it of course.
But we had The Garrison back in the day. That was Blizzard’s attempt at housing, and they did go to great lengths to explain why they ended up with that and not just a cozy home on a hillside. So choosing to do the cozy home on the hillside now does bring into question their design thoughts on the matter.
But we’ll see. It was an announcement without any substance, so besides the name it’s still anyone’s guess.
Already have my garrison, so don’t really care.
I am looking forward to this.
For roleplay, this will be amazing if done right.
I just hope a few things:
- Keep it aesthetic
- No progression/functionality, we want people to play the game and not sit in their house
Player housing in Midnight! Furniture section also being added to the Battle.net Shop as well. This will happen 100000000000%

for me it feels like kinda panic button - they are out of ideas for any expansion related feature so they go for housing.
cant wait for players dissapointemnt once thye relaise that to get really good housing stuff they will have to spend hundreds of euro in shop .
We’ll see. Still don’t know what housing is. Besides the name. And that’s always been the discussion. What does housing actually entail? Still don’t know that. But we’ll see.
I hope they don’t copy XIV’s terrible system of having five separate maps with 60 layers each, the vast majority of wards are empty and it feels like a singleplayer game
There’s a lot of unused doors around every city hub, they could make houses work like Delve entrances
Probably some thing that you decorate and have fun for while planning it and once its done there is no content like pvp or m+ or raiding providing endless content. I go to someones play house and Ive seen it in 5 mins and Im done, theres no reason for me to continue being there. Content wise its not very much.
Really don’t want them to drop the ball on this.
I expect a tons of customization, stuff added throughout new/old expansions.
And the ability to display stuff you collected or accomplishments of things.
throwing a house party at my house
dress code: nothing
que the music
I have never understood why this is such a requested feature?
It’s like a garrison only smaller yeah you can select what kind of rug you want but who cares, this isn’t the sims lol
I am not bothered about player housing I personally think its a waste of development time and its just an excuse for them to add more ^&*! onto the shop and now all the quests will be just rewarding items you can put in your house which no doubt need to be manually placed which until you do will just end up taking up bag space.
but only with girls!!
Not me. I’ll be making mine like my IRL house, which looks like someone came in and stole everything.
